This Friday is also the day of Nowruz, Iranian new year celebrated on spring equinox which is also first day of spring, it will be one of solemnness and reflection. Guided by the Los Angeles Bureau of infrastructure inspection (@infrastructure.la ) we will be doing a 3 mile walk of Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale as part of the public programming for “everything was once something else (the land was the sea, the sea was the land),” a solo exhibition by Roksana Pirouzmand (@roksanapirouzmand ) curated by Suzy Halajian (@suzymh_ ) with public programs curated by Nahui Garcia (@_nahui ) on view at JOAN (@joanlosangeles ) and OXY ARTS (@oxyarts ). The purpose of this inspection is to analyze how the forces of erosion bend space across Southern California through the violent beauty of the San Gabriel Mountains with accompanying readings from Jamil G Baldwin (@juh_mile ), Michael Ned Holte (@michaelnedholte ), Theo Meranze (@theomeranze ), and Lara Sarkissian (@lara_sarkissian ) and myself. Light snacks and hydration will be provided at the beginning of the inspection as per Cal/OSHA T8CCR 3395.
