I was part of a big team which handled the whole project, my task was to create a visual mood and atmosphere for the Norrsken Africa Week/ Inauguration event. Claude’s sculptures tell stories, bridging cultural roots with contemporary expression. Each piece carries intention, depth, and masterful craftsmanship. Filming with Claude felt natural. I simply allowed him to move in his element and captured the rhythm of his process, from the first strike on raw wood to the final intricate details. Every stage connects seamlessly, and the story begins the moment the wood meets his vision. His studio already held the soul of the narrative. BEHIND THE HILLS - @bless_aine for @mitochondria.gallery Bless’s art is truly one of a kind. The moment you see his work, you know you’re looking at something fresh, unique, and outside the norm. Visiting his studio and witnessing his thought process and execution made it clear that his short film would naturally take on a different direction. We shot everything in one day, after spending the previous day planning the layout, choosing the interview setup, and walking around the neighborhood to map out spots where we could capture him interacting with his environment. Shoot day was straightforward. We executed every detail we had planned, ensuring the client’s brief was fully met. I’m genuinely proud of how this short film turned out. Every shot had purpose. Projects like this remind me why I love filmmaking, every frame carries a piece of the artist’s world. Excited to keep telling stories that highlight the depth and creativity of our artists. “BEHIND THE HILLS” the Intro. Had the privilege of creating a series of studio visits with the artists exhibiting at @mitochondria.gallery in collaboration with @dusabeking for the “BEHIND THE HILLS” exhibition, featuring five contemporary artists based in Rwanda. I wanted to move away from the usual talking-head interview format, so I explored a more dynamic visual style, moving shots, artworks hanging in the background, and a flow that pulls you toward the essence of the exhibition. Most of the city scenes were captured on a separate day. We headed out to Nyamirambo, @dusabeking ’s home area, on one of its busiest days to film the energy and character of the neighborhood. Honored to visually contribute to such an important artistic dialogue and help spotlight the creative voices shaping our scene. We set out to tell a story that reflects the dedication and teamwork behind BBOXX’s mission. UCI with a whole new vibe 🚴🏾‍♂️ Brought my camera out this Sunday to capture the final race of the #ucicycling world championship. The energy in Nyamirambo was electric. Such an amazing experience to film. Moments like these highlight how Rwanda is becoming a vibrant hub for global sporting events and a place where creative storytelling can truly shine. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the African Development Bank @afdb_group , we produced a mini-documentary showcasing the Bank’s impact in Rwanda from 2012 to 2022. Our mission was to craft a compelling narrative by bringing together diverse footage from various project sites across the country. To enhance the story and highlight key data points, we also incorporated dynamic motion graphics that visually illustrated the AfDB’s contributions.
