#SpringSeason: William Joys, 'Amateur Traumatics'
→ Spring Salon / Thu 30 April
During the Salon next week we will present William Joys latest performance work 'Amateur Traumatics', where Joys becomes an architectural installation that questions authenticity and artificiality.
William Joys
@williamjoys channels characters, which arouse suspicion about the endorsement of authenticity over ‘artificial’ construction. He performs through layers of subterfuge, and through his own performance he becomes an object, which embodies the prop, the stage, the costume, in order to promote the art of actressing.
He has exhibited and performed at Chemist Gallery, Cafe Oto, Glasgow International, Strangefield, Modern Institute, The Legal Stage, Kunstraum London, Kunsthalle Munster, Museum Ludwig, MUMOK and MIT list centre. He is a founding member of Villa Design Group and one half of Sartre 25. He is currently part of the Conditions Studio Programme.
→ The LPS Spring Salon is an eclectic and energetic night of performances, where disciplines collide and coalesce. William Joys will perform alongside Lizzy Tan
