Through collective and solo tasks, dancers are offered the space to reconnect with their inner sensuality and redefine what āsexyā is to them.
Expect hip swaying, mental stimulation, body rolling, hairography and much much more; weāll work through all parts of our body - finding comfort through vulnerability in our skin.
Heels, leg warmers, leos, lace, & spandex are more than welcome! Come ready to strut your legs and stretch your mindsā¦

BODY SONGS: LYRICISM AND DRAMATIC STRUCTURES IN SOMATICS
This workshop aims to explore and dissect the nature of movement as a self narrative tool and examine how adjacent it is in relation to dialogue, text, imagery and sound. We will practice improvisational techniques to explore how movement can be used as a narrative tool in different layers, not miming but embodying feelings, textures and atmospheres. We will practice composing images but through a somatic lens. The structure of internal narrative, tone, focus, rhythm and texture are some of the many layers that we can explore through moving. We will experiment with text and score and the absence of it to enable us
to play with building images and scenes in different ways using a range of exercises.

SOLD OUT Violet Savage Dance Workshop Wednesday 8th April 10am-12pm at Britannia Row, Islington
Ā£10 tickets via @gel.now
Violetās practice draws from improvisation to inhabit the charged space between self and other, through engaging with the tension between presence and memory to present process and outcome simultaneously. At the heart of the workshop is a desire to expand the experience of exploration from a solitary to shared creative act, to experience dance as liveness, care and learning in both individual and collective bodies, resisting the forces of competition and fatigue that pull us apart.
