βAs the first generation of young people to grow up alongside the internet, collecting objects carries a deeper significance. Given our existential fear of being permanently sucked into the doomscroll (and losing touch with reality altogether), itβs no surprise that weβre clinging to the physical world for dear life.
By devoting ourselves to tangible objects, weβre building personal lore thatβs grounded in the IRL rather than the digitalβreflecting the most treasured corners of our identities back into the real world.
In doing so, weβre connecting with ourselves, fellow collectors, and with the pastβself-soothing our generational loneliness and our nostalgia for simpler, more analog times.β

For this weekβs π²ππππΎππ π―π½ππππΎππ, we sat down with the editor and strategist Letty Cole. Hailing from the English countryside, Cole is now based in London, where she runs the IYKYK lecture-presenting series, Lost Property.β

Besides coming up with lecture ideas, brand activations and everything in between, Cole also writes cultural think-pieces for publications like i-D, Polyester and Vogue.β

In her profile, we speak about creativity in the era of personal branding, why we make decisions based on ego rather than art and the fate (or death) of the influencer economy.
Based in London, @letty_etc has built a body of work that stretches from writing and creative strategy to production of collective learning spaces. Through her event series, @lost.property____ and @readingclub___ , she creates frameworks for contexts where people gather not to consume, but to engage with the world and each other.
Rather than producing work that fits neatly into one discipline, Letty embraces hybridity as a strength. Her platforms arenβt just events or publications, they are invitations to inhabit a world with nuance, depth, and intentional connection. βThe world can be magic if you choose to live in it,β as she puts it.
In our conversation, Letty reflects on the value of meaningful constraints and the logistics of bringing people together in spaces that feel alive.
