Lost Property is a new night of lectures about our most cherished pockets of interest. Thereโs no theme, just your favourite thinkers, artists, lovers and friendsโ favourite obsessions, condensed into a motley selection of miniature presentations.

EDITORโS NOTE (on manifestos & rhizomes)
Hello everyone. First of all, thank you for the response so far, itโs been very special <3
Lost Property is not about politics or philosophy (so far itโs about frogs & the river thames & celebrity gossip & therapy & mould, among other things). But it is philosophical and political at its heart, really, and precisely because of this miscellany.
1. Lost Property embraces the collective IRL; rejects learning as a solitary digital pursuitย
2. Lost Property embraces detail, little pockets of interest, small corners of ourselves; rejects an economy that flattens our identities into careers & personal brands
3. Lost Property embraces spontaneous speech & participation (all the randomness and chance that makes the world good); rejects rigidity.
What I hadnโt anticipated is that these motley collections of special interests would all connect with each other, find their place and become treasure. It feels fitting that we had Zlata speak about Deleuze at Lost Property No.1, because whatโs emerged since our launch feels a bit like what he would call rhizomatic, a mass of roots(ideas) that are infinitely connected and growing, with no real beginning or end.ย
One attendee said to me that it felt as though we were all tapped into a collective consciousness. Lost Property is really not meant to be profound, is meant to be more silly than anything, but thereโs something quite magic in that. Iโm sure it has something to do with making room for detail and spontaneity, for deeper meaning to emerge.ย
Because the things about roots, about rhizomes, is that they can grow infinitely, but only if they have room to spread. People say that the internet is like that, and indeed we do have infinite room to spread and share ideas. But when the medium is one which tends to stunt, and overwhelm, and disconnect us from thought (or at least it does for me), its as though we have infinite room, but no lifeforce. LP hopes to be some antidote to that, some kind of praxis for an embodied collective consciousness.

Surpriseeeee! LOST PROPERTY no.8 is THIS FRIDAY! Weโre doing a special edition at a โsecret locationโ โฆaka you-know-where. Itโs their final month of opening so it had to be done (we share a name if you hadnโt already noticed)๐ฟ๐๐
As always, expect the night of your lives, with lectures from the brilliant minds of @thomusdacosta@matteo.p.i.n.i@emariamhe@danielle__paterson (featuring possibly the largest powerpoint presentation youโve ever seen). Tickets are ยฃ15 and get you entry to the club for the rest of the night if you want to party with us after ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ฆ๐โ๏ธโฐ๏ธ๐ง๐ ๏ธ
