See you there xx
Last June we started the slow fashion social - the goal was to create a accessible space where people can craft & learn together, somewhere very offline and present🧵🌸
Each month we focus on a different project, always using second-hand materials focusing on essential textile skills & creativity 🪲
Most months I get asked where the idea for these workshops came from, and it was mostly inspired by memories of teenage shopping. The small conversations between trying-ons. Fashion and textiles have always been social and It felt like there was no space for this kind of connection outside of consumption. But now I watched how, in many ways, creating together can be a much better social companion than shopping. It requires focus and using your hands, which make you feel present and calm, and it’s been a genuine pleasure to see how this facilitates connection in the space, how those two hours together has led to group chats and coffee dates 🧚💖
I always look forward to running this workshop - it feels like the perfect reset before the coming month. Very excited to see what will happen this year 💝
As always, thanks for coming and making this possible and to @canteenbristol for hosting us. See you at a workshop soon xxx

With mend in public day coming up this Saturday - some reflections on mending 🧵
Mending can often feel like something you don’t want to have to do - it gets dropped to the bottom of this list and the pile of clothes gets bigger.
But what if we viewed it as a creative opportunity- a time to run some slow stitches and imagine a new system?
Join us on Saturday for some social mending - have a look at headfirst event for more details on locations and timings 🧚🪲
Happy mending x
