A little (big) banner making in preparation for this Saturday's Mend In Public Day! I'll be sitting mending my things (with banner) at @windmill_hill_city_farm from 10-12 this Saturday morning 25 April - I'd love your company! I'll have a bunch of sewing bits and pieces and fabric for patching you can use if you'd like to come down (or you can bring your own, of course). The weather forecast is looking👌🏼☀️ if a little chilly first thing ... So bring your things to mend, a jumper to wear and a flask of something warm (or pop to the lovely farm cafe for a hot drink). Other members of the Bristol Slow Fashion Collective - @rebel.patch @rethrindle @weavingchangeuk @notbuyingitmag and @shika.otalu will also be mending out and about around the city - find your nearest event via bio link! #MAKEMENDSNOTWAR #mendinpublicday #bristolslowfashioncollective #repairweek2026 #mendingmatters

Of course I'm already behind on March mending... So just a tiny quick one this eve. Transforming my son's "strawberry trousers" (looks orange, but it's red) into apple ones. Thanks to whoever did the first little patch - can't remember where we inherited this pair from! Felt gets bobbly quickly, but I like using it for small patches like these all the same. Let's see how long this one lasts.... #mendmarch2026 #mendmarchette #repairweek2026 #bristolfixclub

This month's Windmill Hill Fix Club is happening this evening from 19:30. Bring your repair pile along, we provide tools and materials. Together we can lament the state of the world (or other) while doing something practical and creative (and political. Because mending is a political act.) With tea and biscuits, obvs. Hope to see you there ☕🪡 More details and tickets in bio link. #bristol #bristolfixclub #bedminster #fixitdontditchit

We’re growing! 💚✊ The latest maker to join the AST affiliates scheme... @makingmends brings people together to mend, (re)make and swap our way through Bristol’s collective wardrobe, keeping clothing out of landfill, one item at a time. To do this, they host regular Fix Clubs; community meetups dedicated to textile repair, sustainable sewing workshops and kids’ and adults’ clothes swaps in Bristol. Their manifesto is centred around five big C-words that guide everything they do: Circularity. Comfort. Community. Confidence. Creativity. You can find out more about what this all means in practice at @makingmends , and if you’re in the Bristol area, check out how to get involved and give them a follow! If you’re a brand or organisation who shares our values and are interested in becoming an affiliate, reach out! And discover all our affiliates using the link in the bio. #SFWAffiliates #ASingleThread #SFW2026 #SustainableFashionWeek

Three cheers for repair 🎉 It feels so good when you finally get around to mending things that have been staring at you for the longest time. Monday evening's Windmill Hill Fix Club was great - lovely atmosphere and fellow fixers and lots of mending and chatting. I honestly didn't think I'd manage to fix these glove thumbs - thought it was beyond my limited darning skills. But I did it! And the slipper - I fixed its partner months ago, finally I have a draft-free pair again. The dopamine hit is real. Next sessions are coming up on Thursday 5 Feb from 18:30 at the Southville Centre and on Mon 9 Feb from 19:30 at Windmill Hill Community Centre. I'd love to see you there! More details in bio link. Know someone who might like to come along? Please spread the word! #bristolfixclub #bristol #Bedminster #sewbristol @bs3_community_development
