Tokyo! Come to my show! Friday May 22nd sees the launch of a new risograph print portfolio by yours truly as well as a merch collaboration with @walnutscoffee . Doors open at 6 - at 8 I will open my mouth (much to the dismay of many), noises will ensue and at 8:30 I will close it again (to thunderous applause on account of closing it) and a performance by the world's greatest caretaker @theoskarms will follow, playing a few choice picks from his debut EP TØRT.
Join us for an evening in the name of motion, color, texture, transcontinental connections, giant robots and natural wines - I mean come one those are all the good things!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tomorrow, may 7th, from 1-5pm our pal seiji of @electricapdx will be visiting us from portland to take over the bar and do some brewing with us!
we will be doing our normal espresso, matcha, hojicha, and wine service as well, if you're not into pourovers but want to come meet and talk 👌

this past weekend we had our first pop-up at a non-coffee centered event — @on.japan 's squad race tokyo!
we made a lot of coffee, served wine, and even participated in the race ourselves (even though we're pretty sure we placed dead last) 🏃.. it was totally different from our usual neighborhood coffee shop vibe, and we were able to meet a lot of new people and have fun goofing off for a day 🤝💕
huge thanks to @on.japan for inviting us, and for their continued support with our run club! we'll be having more meets soon, so we hope to see you there 🙏

Ultralight Subscription 🌿
These coffees will be for the MAY UL Sub Release 💫
Similar to our regular subs- there will be three phenomenal roasters that we will rotate each month. These will be the lightest of the light roast coffees available. This option is more limited than our normal subs, so don't sleep on it if you're interested!
The structure will be: 3x 100g bags, or 3x 200g bags.
Process types: Mostly clean washed coffees with some honey and naturals.

this monday, march 9th, our friend @flyengkte of @komakasecoffee will be sharing our space with us!
he'll be serving some special coffees from popular roasters @daturacoffee_paris and @hydrangeacoffeeroaster , while we'll be slinging shots and doing our regular service. it's rare to find coffee from these roasters in japan, so it's a good chance to try them!
we're excited to have him with us for a day, so come by and say hi!

we're so excited to announce that we are launching our own running club!! we've been wanting to do this for awhile now, and we're super excited to do more with our community 🤝
the team at @on.japan will be supplying us with running shoes at each session, so this is perfect for anyone who's curious about on shoes, or for those who want to try running but don't have shoes yet!
here are the details for the very first run club session –

our new year’s resolution this year was to give our space a refresh one step at a time, starting with a brand new street sign featuring an illustration from our friend @sadshrimps ! we'll be making some more exciting changes to our space in the coming months, so follow our little gang of walnuts and come see what’s new at the shop!

it's 2026, and as we continue diving deeper into the world of specialty coffee, we figured it was time for a packaging update. featuring a tile motif and elements inspired by the shop, these are made out of washi (japanese rice paper) and pet, obviously reusable but also 100% recycable.
we're very excited for you to get your hands on these, so come in to the shop and check them out, or order online! beans are finally available for sale again, thanks for waiting 🤝

From the first pour of coffee by @dilly___deli to the last bite of sandwich – the same familiar Hideout taste, just a little further from home. Shoutout to everyone who came through, old friends and new 🫶🏻
