โจAt age ten she wrote to Albert Einstein about the injustices she saw in life, and he wrote back encouraging her to form her own opinions according to her judgment. That message became a guiding light.
I felt honored to spend time with her walking through the once-condemned duplex she purchased in 1974. The space has since been transformed into an extraordinary custom-built home and studio designed in a spiral. Truly inspiring!

Venice Open Studios is an artist-run event dedicated to celebrating the creative spirit of Venice Beach, with a focus on building meaningful connections between artists, neighbors, and visitors. Throughout the neighborhood, artists will open their studios, inviting the public to step inside their creative spaces and experience their work firsthand.
What began last year with just one studio opening its doors has already grown into a multi-artist event, with the intention of continuing to expand the concept and nurture a vibrant, supportive community.
Thank you to David Zylberman @davidzylberman for setting the vibe at Venice Open Studios and Holding it down at Elizabeth Orleans Studio. He made sure that the energy was right the whole event and played the perfect mix of tunes. It would not have been the same without you!
