ACROSS IN RESIDENCE A GOOD PLACE EXHIBITION: 28 & 29.06.25 Thank you for being with us for the festive opening of A Good Place in Brussels! ✨ What a night — full of encounters, performances, projections, and rich conversations, all set in the festive atmosphere of D’Ieteren’s modernist headquarters in Ixelles. Curated by Pauline Fockedey and Theo De Meyer, 𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 marks the end of the Across in Residence 2024–2025 programme. Don’t miss the chance to explore the exhibition this weekend only, Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 June, from 11am to 5pm at Rue du Mail 50, 1050 Ixelles ! Find out more about the 8 participants’ projects this year : 𝐀𝐂𝐌𝐄 makes the Rue du Mail car-free for one day. Creating a monumental entrance square for the Across event. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 presents an adaptable system out of a reused parachute, questionning the ephemeral nature of architectural interventions. 𝐃é𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 criticises the dominant place vehicles occupy in public space and experiments with alternative forms of appropriation. 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐦 focuses on the interim character of the building, the role of temporality in architecture and the tension between shell and structure. 𝐞𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞 explores the relationship between ornament and function and questions the notions of utility and uselessness. 𝐎.𝐔.𝐕.𝐑.𝐀.𝐆.𝐄.𝐒. presents a 1:5 scale model stripped of any architectural programme from one of its ongoing projects. They seek to deepen the notion of infrastructure. 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 installs a light panel at the entrance that refers to the former cinema marquee, transforming the corporate character of the building into a place of shared experience. 𝐯𝐨𝐨𝐫.𝐚𝐥𝐬.𝐧𝐨𝐠 presents a mobile viewing station which allows them to look at a house they designed but never got to see the final result of. @aplusarchitectureinbelgium @ica.wb @vlaams_architectuurinstituut @dieterenimmo @pauline.fockedey @demeyertheo @acme.image @chambresdamies @derive.practice.eu @eelilizz @esque.info @ouvrages.be @variable.ooo @voor.als.nog 📸 ICA - Romy Berger @jesuisbleudetoi

A+313 PA+RALLEL PRACTICES Discover A+313, co-edited by Evelien Pieters. Get your copy via the link in bio! In these times of extreme crises, major societal challenges, ubiquitous liberalism and precarious working conditions, architects are looking for new ways to give concrete expression to their commitment. These architects are increasingly taking the initiative themselves, with unsolicited and experimental practices that contribute to urgent issues, sharpen the profession of architect and hold up a mirror to the sector as a whole. Their goal is to find a space of freedom, parallel to traditional construction practices, far from any economic rationale and functional expectations. In these practices, beyond responding to the demands of clients, architecture also challenges architects. With contributions by Evelien Pieters, Emmanuel Van der Beek, Maxime Delvaux, Stijn Bollaert, Lara Molino, Maud Faivre, Amélie Poirel, Eline Dehullu, Adeola Enigbokan, Els Vervloesem, Bart Tritsmans, Carla Frick-Cloupet, Anne-Laure Iger, Gosia Olchowska, Roxane Le Grelle, Sophia Holst, Victoire Chancel, Johnny Umans, Léone Drapeaud, Fabian De Vriendt With projects by Pauline Cabrit – Aurélien Ramos, Raf Ilsbroekx – Maarten Van Acker – Amaury Blondeau – UAntwerpen, Maxime Jaume – Lucile Pujol, Arthur Stache – Tomàs Barberá Ramallo, Elina Bennetsen – Lieven Symons – Zuzanna Rucka – Katelijne Vanhoutte, Büro Juliane Greb, InterEnvironnement Bruxelles (IEB), Pool is Cool, Filter Café Filtré, Philip Aguirre y Otegui, EM2N, ACME, Chambresdamies, esque, variable (x;y), voor.als.nog, Elise Helm, Dérive, Theo de Meyer, Pauline Fockedey, V+,... #aplus #architectureinbelgium #parallelpractices @pauline.cabrit @aurelien.ramos @rafilsbroekx @maarten_van_acker @vplusproject @amaury_blondeau @uantwerpenarchitectuur @maximeemuaj @arthurstache @katelijne_vanhoutte @buerojulianegreb @ieb_bruxelles @philipaguirreyotegui1 @em2n_architekten_ag @fabiandevriendt @acme.image @chambresdamies @vplusproject @demeyertheo @pauline.fockedey @derive.practice.eu @eelilizz @esque.info @ouvrages.be @variable.ooo @voor.als.nog

We are happy to present you the 8 participants of Across in Residence! This year’s edition of Across is on the theme of the ‘self-initiated practice’ and focuses on young Belgian architects or firms who, in addition to their work in architecture, are developing a complementary practice. During four months, the residents will attend individual and collective work sessions at the D’Ieteren headquarters supervised by architects Pauline Fockedey (Nord) and Theo De Meyer. Get to know the residents better during three lectures on their work and progress at ULiège, DE SINGEL and D’Ieteren headquarters. You can already sign up for the first lecture at Liège via the link in bio!
