I asked the UK to name an entrepreneur. They rattled off unlimited names in seconds. Then I asked them to name a Black entrepreneur... 🤯
...and you can hear a pin drop 📌 . The stammering, the blank stares, the uncomfortable silence.
Watching people struggle to name even one Black founder is a glaring reflection of a broken system.
The gap is undeniable:
❌ Black founders receive less than 2% of venture capital funding
❌ Black-owned businesses get a fraction of the media coverage
❌ Black success stories are told less, celebrated less, and amplified less
This is not because Black brilliance and innovation don’t exist. It is because the infrastructure hasn’t been there to support or spotlight them.
I’ve sat with that painful reality for a long time. But at some point, you have to stop waiting for the industry to fix itself!
