Signal Drift reimagines a large satellite dish as a living system, with ethernet cables extending outward like roots, waterways, or neural pathways. Throughout the structure are small islands, sprouting with mushrooms, flowers, and hybrid forms, hand-woven from land line telephone wires. The artwork is composed using fibre- based techniques including various forms of weaving, stitching, bundling, and crochet.
Gratitude to my studio assistant for the project @adrianromeo and to @kimanderson.ca for the photos.
I’m happy to share (a few) of the artworks from @thompsonriversu 2026 (and very last) BFA graduating exhibition which wrapped up this week. The exhibition also included works from visual arts certificate, diploma, and minor students, as well as works from students who will not get an opportunity to graduate with visual arts credentials as the program closes. It was great fun to work with the students towards their exhibition.

The photos do not do justice to the scale of any of these works. Especially the Serra’s -which you can taste the iron in your mouth as you are surrounded by them. I have never tasted a sculpture before!

I’m so thrilled to have my artwork included in “Plastique”, curated by @aurorarobson open now @opalka_gallery until April 18! While I planned to be at the opening reception this Friday, March 20, my appendix had other plans for me and I’m resting at home. If you’re in the Albany area, check out the exhibition!
