A full-circle moment I didn’t see coming… I’m beyond excited to share that my play Mr. Yo Mama has been picked up for licensing by TinyScripted! That means the play is now officially available for productions beyond my own community — schools, theatres, and youth groups can now produce it through a licensing platform. Seeing a piece move from a scrappy student production to a published, licensable work is surreal. You can find Mr. Yo Mama (and other fantastic short plays) here: 👉 /on-stage What makes this even more meaningful is the history behind it. I wrote Mr. Yo Mama in high school around 2010. In 2014, at FSU, I produced and directed it myself as part of an evening of three joke-based plays titled Yo Mama Fell in Love with a Blonde. It was my very first experience producing and directing my own work. Now, more than a decade later, I’m still producing theatre at FSU — but with so much more experience, perspective, and gratitude. Even if it sometimes looks like I’m “in the same place,” I know how much I’ve grown. For those unfamiliar, Mr. Yo Mama is one of the few outright comedies I’ve written. It’s the story of a fed-up kid, a brutal recess, and a superhero with zero superpowers — but killer comebacks. When bullying turns the playground into a battleground, help arrives in the form of Mr. Yo Mama, armed only with an arsenal of devastating “yo mama” jokes. It’s fast-paced, ridiculous, and full of heart — a reminder that humor can wound, but it can also protect, empower, and heal. A huge thank you to TinyScripted for seeing something in this play. And an even bigger thank you to every cast and crew member — from that first 2014 production to the teams who have worked on my plays since — who brought my stories to life. I am forever grateful. Exciting News! One of the monologues in #daddy was selected by Smith & Kraus to be in their anthology book "The Best Men's Stage Monologues 2026" The anthology will be published later in the year, in the meantime, #daddy is available for licensing through @tinyscripted I think this technically makes me a published author, FIGHT ME.

Some of my favorite BTS from @findmeshortfilm . Thanks @rita_02_11 for these beautiful memories. .. Some fun stories about the filming (only fun now): 1. The original special makeup artist thought we were filming in SF - we were NOT. Huge thanks to @danielsukara_mua for stepping in and doing the best special makeup. 2. I messed up the parking situation, so I ended up paying for a lot of tickets (in Westwood too🫠😌🫠). 3. Tate was an incredible AD and therapy dog on set. 4. I asked @lashfan to find someone to drive an U-haul and deliver the equipment to the location, and it turned out to be @allreallin aka @_henrylin_ brother. And I was like “oh why does this guy look like Henry?” 💀what a small world.

Shoutout to the local crew for their support and being patient with me while I was lighting with colors 🎨🧑🏻‍🎨 Vivien battles facial dysmorphia that worsens after her mother’s death. She experiments with makeup, style, and eventually surgery to reclaim a sense of self - but nothing quiets the anxiety.
