GOLDBAND SUMMER TOUR 2025
@goldbandnl
For Goldband’s new summer tour I developed a full set of imagery that follow three silhouettes as they journey through a variety of worlds - each one reflecting the energy and mood of the show and songs.

Thanks again to all my collaborators, and the support of @stimuleringsfonds that made this work possible.
Wow! looking back at these pictures I can’t even express how nice it was to be able to provide the atmosphere on the block stage at the opening days of @dkmntl . Building a custom visual language for the stage and working closely together with the team was such a great experience.
Our first time working with lights as well, next to the visuals. Really excited by these new possibilities. Can’t wait to explore that more.
Following Woody’s vision, we built a modular visual system that provided a rotation of 35 different set of otherworldy eyes that were overseeing the crowd and the DJ’s, during the span of two days. The middle screen was presented as the ‘third eye’, providing a gateway to different worlds, textures and objects from other realms. We will soon post more on the whole process behind the development of the final look. For now I can’t express more gratitude!
Sadly it was also the last weekend of Het Hem, it’s a shame to see such a cultural icon leave. Looking back with much appreciation for one of the best exhibitions I have ever experienced, and overall excitement I have felt for the place. It was an honor to be part of it’s last event.
A special thank you to Woody, Jorijn, Albert, Dekmantel team and all the DJ’s we had the pleasure VJ’ing for.

Opening this Wednesday as part of @rotterdamartweek is the exhibition ‘Interface’ in which I will present a new video sculpture work named ‘Passage Through The Bark’.
Opening at Slash Gallery 17:00 — 20:00
Boomgaardsstraat 69
Systems have existed for as long as life itself. Natural systems are now often overshadowed by human-made systems such as technology. In Passage Through The Bark, Timaeus shows how bark beetles create patterns in trees that disrupt the flow of water. While they move through the wood, complex, almost map-like structures emerge.Timaeus translates these natural pathways into digital patterns that are generated by AI: a technology that also consumes vast amounts of water. The work invites reflection on how systems repeat, change and are reinterpreted.

Last week, artists in residence @tim__aeus and @aniekderooij were testing the first prototype of their project Shifting Forms at Katoenhuis.
Shifting Forms is an interactive XR installation, exploring the impact of melting permafrost and its ancient, unknown organisms. Blending science and speculative fiction, it immerses visitors in an interactive world where they form a symbiosis with evolving physical, auditive and virtual environments.
We are proud to provide space and be a part of the longer research trajectory of this project, and looking forward to its final presentation!

What does a journey to the centre of the Earth look and sound like? Next Nature Network @nextnaturenetwork invited us to explore this question, imagining the layers you would pass through as you descend from their headquarters in Eindhoven.
Blending scientific insight with speculation, it was a true pleasure to envision the variety of worlds hidden beneath our feet.
Tomorrow marks the official opening of ‘Once upon a time... the Earth.’ the new exhibition, of which this installation is a part.

The transformation is official; we’re opening the doors to a new chapter for art in our club. To kick off the rebirth of our former “rokersruimte”, we’re glad to share that we’re working together with Rotterdam-based artist and art director, @tim__aeus , as our first exhibitor.
Timaeus: “Shadows of Veils is a playful exploration of light, image, and space. This new artwork contrasts bursts of illumination within darker environments. Paying homage to club culture, the work reveals how multiple perspectives can emerge from a single scene. Across the room, six lightboxes trace the movement of light through space, each offering its own viewpoint.”
The exhibition “Shadows of Veils” is on display every clubnight. Come along and see for yourself 🫧

Last year I was on the greek island of Alonnissos with the residency of @_art4sea
Doing research in and about the Mediterranean sea, I developed a short film about the rare and local monk seal, with a beautiful pirate folk song, sang by the island’s elder Magdalini.
‘Once scarred by piracy and plunder, the island of Alonissos now hides its treasures beneath the sea. Through the Current is a short VR film that blends myth, memory, and marine ecology. At its heart is a pirate folk song, sung by Magdalini Pappos—one of the island’s elders—passed down from her brother and recounting the story of a historical pirate invasion. This voice of the past merges with vibrant underwater imagery: a visual narrative of healing, where red coral, sea grass, sponges, and monk seals now thrive within Europe’s largest Marine Protected Area. The film contrasts extraction and renewal, loss and recovery—inviting us to reflect on what has been taken, and what the ocean can return if left undisturbed.’
The work was presented on various mediterranean islands, including Alonissos and Malta
The film consists of Underwater Gaussian splats with recorded soundscapes from the island
The film is available to watch in VR at your home setup soon.
Thank you for the opportunity @_art4sea

For Interfering Grounds and @noordspace , Timaeus developed a custom light installation that forms the start of a longer collaboration.
The light can be adjusted in different settings and will be permanently displayed at Noord Space to enrich their cultural program and experiences.
