Lots of new followers, so let’s reintroduce ourselves: We’re Tides, and we believe that a just and equitable future can exist only when communities who have been historically denied power have the social, political, and economic power needed to create it. We collaborate in deep partnership with donors and doers to advance their work through tools like fiscal sponsorship, donor advised funds, collective action funds, expert grantmaking, and strategic advising. 🔗 in bio to learn more.

Lots of new followers, so let’s reintroduce ourselves: we’re Tides, and the most important work we do is shifting power and resources to communities which have historically been denied power. On this account, we’re sharing the stories of community leaders and organizations working to protect democracy, build pro-immigrant futures, heal our climate, and more. You don’t need to start a nonprofit to drive change. Partner with others to resource organizations that are already doing important work and need more support. Learn more at the link in our bio. #impactinvesting #philanthropywithapurpose #socialimpact

Community voices hold the power to drive meaningful social change. Social impact work must be led by the people with firsthand experience of the issues communities want to address. Check out the link in our bio to learn more about three key steps to including community in your social impact. #socialimpact #socialgood #collectivepower

We all deserve a just, equitable future. Tides shifts resources and power to communities historically denied both. We transfer this power because the best solutions come from the places and people most impacted by the issue. Our #socialjustice #philanthropy intentionally affirms the power of those leading the change for justice. #socialgood

Together with our donors, we direct investments toward communities facing systemic barriers—advancing solutions that build a more just and equitable world. #EarthDay is about more than the environment — it’s about power. Along the Houston Ship Channel, frontline communities have spent years confronting toxic pollution from refineries and chemical plants. With support from the Frontline Justice Fund at Tides, @bayoucitywk joined a coalition to challenge outdated EPA rules — and won. This ruling is more than a policy shift. It’s a proof point: when communities closest to the harm have the resources and legal support they need, they can change the rules. We spoke with @bayoucitywk about what this victory means — and what it will take to turn it into lasting, generational change. Read the full Q&A at the link in our bio.

We are excited to announce the newest round of grants from the Girls Just Want to Have Fundamental Rights Fund at the Tides Foundation (tidescommunity). In March, a record $575,000 was granted to a wonderful array of organizations advancing the rights and health of women and girls around the world. And, we are excited to announce that we have expanded our mission to include support for the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you to everyone who bought a t-shirt, a wig on Cyndi’s farewell tour, or made a donation. With your support, you are helping to create a more inclusive world for everyone. To learn about the grantees and their transformative work, please visit the link in the bio.

Faith-based communities play a vital role in building a democracy that reflects our shared values. Minister JaNaé Bates Imari of @isaiahorg reminds us that democracy thrives when people organize across differences, transforming exclusion into shared agency. Early #AllByApril investment helps organizers build the belonging‑centered civic infrastructure communities need now.
