Last month, I was happy to be able to travel to Flagstaff to join my friends at Native Renewables at their 10th Anniversary celebration. It was great to learn about the history of the company, what they do and hear firsthand from customers they helped. Congratulations on 10 years of making an impact, and wishing you many more to come! #nativeamericansinenergy #solarpower #arizonaeventphotographer #azphotographer #photographybyroshan

Last month we celebrated our 10th birthday and we’re still stoked by this shout out from the one and only, Alex Honnold! #ThrowbackThursday 🎉 The @HonnoldFoundation is working to advance solar energy access all over the world, including right here in the southwest with NRI for Hopi and Diné (Navajo) families. Like us, they believe that energy should be easy to accessible and affordable ☀️ Thank you, Honnold Foundation for your continued support!

Staff spotlight!🔦 We love putting faces to names and some of you may have heard from DiAndre. DiAndre is our Customer Care Team Lead and is usually the first wave of communication when it comes to getting a family connected to electricity⚡️ From the Pinon community, DiAndre has been with NRI since 2023 and on his spare time he enjoys gardening and karaoke! We enjoy his positive attitude and we’re happy to give him a shout out! We are also grateful for DiAndre’s leadership and for the hard work he puts into serving our communities!🌟 #StaffSpotlight #NRI #CustomerCare #IndigenousLed #NativeRenewablesInc

We celebrated our 10 Year Birthday as a non-profit organization over the weekend at the Lowell Observatory🔭 Supporters, funders, donors, close friends and family joined in our celebration 🎉 The day was full of stories, memories, music by @djfrankensteinnez , yummy food by @nellaskreations , and photos by @photographybyroshan 📸 In classic NRI fashion, we ended the celebration with a team tunnel/dance party as a way of giving kudos, expressing our joy and gratitude for one another 💖 This event marked how incredible the last 10 years have been for NRI. The energy and excitement sparked our motivation and inspiration to continue into the next decade in a positive way. Thank you again to our attendees who traveled near and far!

We registered to Arizona Gives Day for the first year ever!🌵 #AZGivesDay is April 7th, but you can start giving today! /organization/Native-Renewables ☀️ In the Southwest, where sunshine is abundant, solar energy is a viable solution to address energy disparities that exist on Navajo and Hopi lands. Approximately 15,000 homes do not have access to reliable electricity and we are changing that by providing off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to address the urgent energy needs for remote households though the Hozho Homes program! To date: ⚡️We powered 137 homes with off-grid solar PV systems and battery storage 🏠 40% of Native Renewables Inc. (NRI) staff come from our workforce program, and 45% live in the communities we support 🛠️ NRI has provided over 600 hours of workforce training including OSHA safety and virtual/hands-on installation training 💡 NRI donated over 4000 solar lights and cellphone chargers for COVID relief Tag your favorite Arizona Non-Profit!

For the first time in NRI History, we achieved our Quarter 1 goals!🌟 More so, our goals were the most for Q1 ever: we installed 10 systems and provided annual maintenance for 11 systems! This is a big feat for us and we’re proud of our team. From the Finance department, Communications and Customer Care, to the Install Team — we did it!🎉

We completed another install this week! Happy #SpringEquinox!🌱 The days are growing longer and we’re grateful for the warmth of the sun. In our field of work, the sun provides so much for our team and for families by providing energy to electrify homes. Thank you sun!☀️ Check out our website for a downloadable copy of this coloring page by Diné painter, David Johns! /solar-education/resources/

Are you passionate about implementing solar technology and helping families in need of electricity? ⚡️We are on the hunt for three Off-Grid Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installers to join our team of trailblazers. You’ll be contributing to the Native Renewables Inc.’s mission by installing solar PV systems and providing maintenance for homes on Hopi and Navajo Nations. You’ll also be communicating with homeowners and providing knowledge on how to use and maintain their PV systems. 🛻💨 This position will be expected to travel as much as 75% of the time. This position provides room for growth, both in PV installation, and teaching solar concepts to the Native communities. 🔗 To learn more, visit /who-we-are/careers/ We’re excited to meet you!☀️

It’s #InternationalWomensDay and we love love love celebrating Indigenous women in the solar and the trades!👷🏽‍♀️We’d like to give a special shout out to Deb Tewa, who contributed over 40+ years of technical experience mastering her trade as an electrician⚡️ From the Hopi Nation, Deb partially grew up without electricity, water, or a telephone in a three-room stone house. After graduating top of her class in high school, she attended Northern Arizona University (NAU), but decided to take the nontraditional path and went to a trade school to become an electrician. She later returned to NAU and received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree and was recruited to Sandia National Labs. After earning her electrical certification in 1987, Deb joined NativeSUN, a Hopi-managed nonprofit organization that installs photovoltaic units at homes in remote areas off the grid. She spent 11 years there as an electrician and later as a Project Director. In 2020, Deb joined Native Renewables! She trained and taught many young people in the trade; leading workshops and helping to design systems built for the fluctuating temp extremes of the desert southwest. We value your work, Deb—not only as NRI’s Workforce and Education Manager—but as a mentor, leader, aunty, sister, friend. Happy Retirement, Deb! It is well-deserved and we will miss you at the office and in the field ☀️ Source: https://newsreleases.sandia.gov/light-bringer-debby-tewa-provides-advice-about-solar-power-to-people...
