We are so grateful for everyone who came along to celebrate the launch of Oddaný Bookstore, with the reopening of our renovated space. Oddaný Bookstore is dedicated to supporting Melbourne’s thriving community of independent publishers, writers, and art book enthusiasts, currently stocking over sixty titles spanning the realms of visual art, criticism, photography, design & architecture, journalism, poetry and fiction. The bookstore is also currently home to p0litrix library, with a curated collection for borrowing. Thank you to all who have visited, browsed, borrowed and purchased books from our new store. Keep an eye out as we continue to expand our selection over the coming months. Oddaný Bookstore opens for the first time this Thursday 6-9pm. The Bookstore features a selection of local and independent books, magazines and arts, academic & literary journals. Oddaný Bookstore aims to support print media, and uplift the local literary and arts publishing community. We are excited to be launching the Bookstore this Thursday with a growing selection of very special publications. Come celebrate with us alongside our reopening exhibition ‘Work and Object.’

Join us as Melbourne’s art spaces and creative neighbours come together for an afternoon of work, dialogue, and exchange. This year’s Block Party brings together @busprojects , @gallerygalleryinc , @unassigned_gallery , @thresholdprojects , @an.othercollective , and @v_i_s_u_a_l_d_i_a_r_y , each presenting projects and activations that reflect the diverse practices shaping our local creative community. Thanks to our friends at @konpiramaru and @3ravensbrewery who will be keeping the drinks flowing, and to @hillvalephoto who will donate two cameras and provide free film processing to capture moments from the day. Design and layout - ‘The Rings of Saturn’ by Rory Maley Accompanying essay by @magkonluvitsa Rory Maley is an educator and artist based in Melbourne. He has presented talks in Hamburg, Melbourne, and Sydney on topics ranging from mark-making and stormwater tunnels to Australian graffiti. His research practice involves walking, cycling, and documenting the evolving materials and uses of public spaces such as parks and trails. His current work explores the “inter-zone”: transitional areas between rural and urban, industrial and residential. These in-between spaces, often freight yards, garbage dumps, polluted wetlands, and overgrown fields serve as focal points for his ongoing investigations into the overlooked fringes of the city.
