I had the honour of styling and curating the wardrobe for Nike’s Front Runners campaign, alongside my incredible family at @manor.africa photographed by @nondumisoshangee It’s so powerful to witness Black women being seen, celebrated, and leading, like not just featured, but truly centred in campaigns like these. Being part of that process is not only refreshing, but deeply inspiring. Young girls deserve to see themselves reflected in the forefront of important conversations, to know that it’s possible, and that they belong there too. Women shape culture, they influence music, arts, sports and a lot of other things, everything and that contribution should be respected and represented every day, not just on Women’s Day. Black women deserve a seat at every table. I’d also like to say thank you to my assistants, your dedication, sharp eyes, and hard work didn’t go unnoticed. I’m so grateful for you. Happy Women’s Day. Cape Town thank you for showing up for us in numbers at @samenswearweek and for experiencing The Jozi Collective presentation, your support means everything. To our incredible sponsors @vogueeyewear @sinnamon_pr @europaart @rrraw.choco thank you for believing in our vision and helping us bring this moment to life. Your support, collaboration, and trust are deeply appreciated. To our phenomenal designers: @siyababaatelier @oyama_gonintebe @_movundlela @musawenk0si @thabo_kopele To the amazing team that helped me put it all of this together, without you none of it would’ve happened @maipelo_ @queenlohaanda @leletu_baba @zizela_damon_ @youvaaaani @opedac0sta thank you for bringing your talent, passion, and creativity into this project. Your work is a true reflection of the future of South African fashion. When I started The Jozi Collective, my goal was to create a platform that celebrates South African creativity, especially young designers, by empowering them through collaboration and opening doors to greater opportunities. After years of working as a stylist, I’ve witnessed firsthand how much local talent often goes unsupported, and how many brilliant creatives struggle to progress due to limited resources. The Jozi Collective is my contribution to changing that narrative even in a small way.

This has taken abit of time and a little over a year to finally decide to do. I got diagnosed with spinal Tuberculosis as a child left me with permanent scoliosis and permanently affected lungs because my chest doesn’t get enough air because of my back. Since then, it’s been a journey of constant lung infections, recovery, another lung infection, recovery and repeat. I got Covid twice from set which didn’t help me very much. I’ve learnt to live with that’s and I’ve found ways of making that work until I got clots on my lungs (late 2024) which was a second time which put me on a higher risk of a heart attack and a stroke or the clots coming back plus left me with a huge lung damage so I kinda have to spend on alot of chronic medication and supplement them with oxygen therapy here and there, physio (super expensive by the way) plus some medical debts I have found myself in trying to recover and staying afloat in the past two years. Right now, I need the oxygen support to move safely, work on set, and even travel, I mean not always but I kinda have to always have around the portable oxygen with me incase of an emergency or even fly out of the city because I can’t get on a flight without it but the cost of renting it long-term has become rather financially overwhelming. Owning the portable oxygen machine seems like a big solve and much cheaper than renting it long term so it would change literally a lot for me and would mean one less financial strain. I work really hard and I’m super grateful that I’ve still been able to work so the other stuff I’ve been able to manage here and there. A lot of my friends have been asking me for the past year to do this and I’ve been putting it aside but I’ve decided to allow myself to ask for help where necessary which I rarely ever do. If you’re able to support, contribute, or even just share this, it would truly mean a lot so shoutout ❤️ Backabuddy link on bio

Monarch This series of visuals explores the concept of monarchs and the wealthy elite, highlighting the contrast between their luxurious lives and the struggles of the common people. throughout history, monarchs and the wealthy have often held significant power and privilege, while the majority of the population has struggled to make ends meet. The imagery of gold and white clothes, symbolizing wealth and opulence as metaphor for the comfortable and beautiful life of the elite, while the locals suffer in poverty and hardship. The “white houses of gold” is a stark reminder of the grandeur and extravagance of the wealthy, while the common people struggle to find shelter and basic necessities. This contrast highlights the systemic inequalities and injustices that have plagued societies throughout history, where the powerful and wealthy have often prioritized their own interests over the well-being of the majority. It’s a critical commentary on the persistence of social and economic disparities, and the need for greater equality and justice. Titled: REVOLT This is an Afrocentric reclamation of identity, power, and elegance within the architectural remains of colonialism. The aim was to confront the colonial gaze by turning a colonial house into a stage for visual resistance and cultural pride with models wearing African brands @rich_mnisi @imprint_za @connade_ @naoserati @mmusomaxwell . Through this transformative act, REVOLT asserts the power and elegance of Afrocentric fashion, challenging historical narratives and centering African identity and culture in a space that echoes the complexities of colonial history. By showcasing the stunning designs of these African brands in this setting, REVOLT becomes a celebration of African creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural resilience.
