THIRDSPACE return to Gut Level, joined by White Teeth, who will be screening a selection of short films — including a new piece that focuses on the much loved Sheffield venue, @gutlevelsheffield itself. @white.teeth.98 are an audiovisual art practice formed by archivist / curator Ella Barrett [ @ellatembarrett ] and filmmaker / photographer Jashan Walton [ @jashanw ]. Working in film and installation, their work covers a broad range of topics with a common theme being the documentation of the global majority both past and present within Sheffield. Their work respectively has been shown by Worldwide F.M., Weston Park Museum (2024), Tate Liverpool (2024), DocFest (2024), SADACCA (2023). We’re very excited to see this project come to life! More information on the screenings to follow, but these will be happening at the start of the night from 9pm, so be ready to come down early for this part of the night. From there on — we dance! Betty [ @be__ttyyy ] will be joining the Thirdspace Residents to provide tunes for the dancefloor. The @bramalama_bar and @mondo.radio Radio Resident is a playful, dynamic DJ with an ear for a multitude of different sounds and we’re very excited to have her joining us. Expect all things warm, deep, chuggy, hypnotic, sleazy and swampy, within the realms of house, techno, and electro. From the Thirdspace DJs expect the usual exploration of genres ranging from Kuduro, gqom, UKG, trance and beyond. PLEASE NOTE: Gut Level Membership is ESSENTIAL to attend this event. ALGORHYTHM launches with a hard-hitting lineup of quality techno spread across two rooms at FORGE. Leading the pack is none other than the legendary Blawan. Known for his raw, industrial sound, his chunky, hardware heavy productions and his mind-bending DJ sets, Blawan is set to take the party by storm, delivering his first set in the city for a good few years. Support from INLIMEN, Kudan and Harrison b2b Mia. Over in the Workroom, THIRDSPACE take the reins with a full resident takeover. We’re pulling out all the stops for this on too, with the warehouse will be powered by RAZE Sound System in a special and rarely seen 4 point configuration. Tickets are on sale now. Don’t sleep.

Filton Sheffield-based DJ and Thirdspace resident Filton explores the weightier edges of dance music, drawing from soundsystem culture and the global underground. His sets carry that same low-end sensibility and percussive focus into more driving, dancefloor-minded territory Omari: Sheffield based DJ and producer Omari draws inspiration from diasporic soundsystem culture in his selections. Exploring the space between Street Soul, Dancehall and Dub to the global club sounds of Kuduro, Baile Funk and beyond, his focus is on ruff, stripped-back bassweight Korra: Korra has been a key figure in the Sheffield scene for almost a decade, always showcasing an eclectic blend of styles. Drawing huge inspiration from forward-thinking dance labels like Hyperdub, Night Slugs, Príncipe, and Nyege Nyege, Korra’s sound is diverse and futuristic. A versatile DJ, you’re equally as likely to hear him playing 2000s Grime as you are NY Ballroom, Footwork, Baile Funk, Gqom, and a host of other genres.

Over in the Workroom tomorrow night we’ve got the THIRDSPACE residents in for a takeover! They’re a Sheffield collective consisting of some of the city’s favourite selectors across multiple genres, so expect sparks to fly from start to finish. Known for their left-field selections and club-driven sounds, there’s no doubt that the intimate Workroom space will be in safe hands. Residents colecta, Filton, Korra and Omari play across virtually all styles, tempos, moods and energies, so expect the unexpected! We’re now just a day away from the long-awaited return of Blawan now, so make sure you’ve secured your ticket. Tickets will cost more on the door so grabbing one in advance will also save you some pennies. See you in the dance!

This Saturday coming; Blawan, the globe-trotting Barnsley native, returns to Sheffield for a night jam-packed full of driving, crunchy and exciting left-field techno. Sat between four weighty stacks of Raze Sound System, creating an immersive pressure cooker of a dance floor, a few hundred ravers will be united in the FORGE Main Warehouse for an assault on their auditory senses. Support comes from rising-star INLIMEN, plus local legends Kudan, Mia, and Algorythm boss Harrison. Meanwhile, across the courtyard in the intimate Workroom, the THIRDSPACE residents are on hand to delivery a mind-bending masterclass of genre-less proportions. Tickets are moving nicely, so grab one today to lock your plans in for next weekend.

Blawan, just one of a number aliases and projects from the Barnsley native, is known for his experimental, hardware heavy and percussive brand of techno. He’s spent over decade developing his signature sound, and he today continues to affirm his status as a genuine star of the scene. Blawan’s debut EP for XL Recordings, ‘Woke Up Right Handed’, quickly became a hit with the experimental club scene, and was described as one of the Best of 2021 by RA. His most recent release, ‘BouQ’, delves even further into electronic experimentation, garnering support from heavyweights including Four Tet, Joy Orbison and Skrillex From South Yorkshire to Berlin, Blawan’s influence on the electronic music scene has been nothing short of phenomenal. We’re very excited to have him back in his home county thanks to the @algorhythm.uk crew, for a night of raw techno sounds, left-field energy and mind-bending rhythms.
