After three years of consistent biziness and a wide reaching approach to bass music n sound, Soundboy marks its third anniversary with a lineup that reflects that journey. Alongside the introduction of the new offshoot series titled @theplasticloft , this night brings together a broad mix of artists connected to the extended Soundboy circuit.
We’re especially pleased to introduce @sl8rmusic for round2! Returning to the booth, we have hidden head honcho @hanz.riddim , legend @nanny_banton , resident n fav @pablogyal_ , hiphop head @watchdeez , and theplasticloft regular @krs.george , each bringing their own established sound. They’re joined by a range of newer voices including garage heads @0161underground , @hill.luke , and @kieran.leyland , rounding out a lineup that reflects both the core and the next wave of the community.
Across the night, expect a wide spectrum of sounds. hip hop, disco, house, garage, dubstep, R&B, soul, jungle and more

For the second edition we’re bringing a fresh lineup with all-lady energy from the Manchester underground.
Longtime Soundboy favourites Chy and PabloGyal have both been making serious moves across Manchester’s bass scene. Pabs has worked alongside artists like Chimpo and SL8R, bringing her nu-soul leaning selections to bigger stages including Warehouse Project.
Chy has been carving her own lane, supporting major artists across Manchester and playing shows across the UK with versatile sets rooted in bass, breaks and underground club sounds.
NAE brings energetic blends across jungle, UK bass and club sounds, steadily building a name on the Manchester circuit through high-energy dancefloor sets.
SNO is one of Manchester’s most respected record diggers, known for rich selections across afro, soul, hip hop and groove-driven dancefloor sounds.

After two-and-a-half years immersed in bass music, I’ve cemented my place in the drum & bass and dubstep world. Now, a few years on, it feels right to open up a new space — giving my peers and close friends the chance to play something different.
This series comes directly from my background in bass culture, but flips the focus. It’s about bringing bass DJs and house DJs together, giving them the freedom to step outside their usual lanes and dig into other sides of their collections.
Plastic is a nod to Plastic People, London (2000s ish) — the basement that shaped FWD>>, dubstep, grime and UK bass culture. DJs pushing forward-thinking music shoulder to shoulder.
The Loft looks back to The Loft, New York City (1970) — David Mancuso’s invitation-only gatherings rooted in disco, funk, soul and communal energy.
The Plastic Loft is where those two worlds meet.

North West selector splitting time between Liverpool & Manchester, @daizz.dj is a fiercely multi-genre musical DJ with deep roots in jungle, breaks, UK bass and soulful club sounds. A founder of Hit.The.Breaks, a respected radio presenter and community builder, and a wicked selector.
On the 26th these artists take their craft into new territory, stepping outside their usual lanes to explore the sounds of the plastic loft.

In this series bass, grime, jungle and house DJs, are given the space to step outside their usual lanes. ‘The Plastic Loft’ is where Bass heads, Disco lovers and Crate Diggers come together on the dance floor with high quality selectors playing records they don’t usually get to drop.
