My name is Sasha Plotitsa, and I’m the founder of Formr. At Formr, we believe in second chances, for both people and the planet. We transform construction waste into thoughtfully designed furniture while creating job opportunities for individuals rebuilding their lives, including those who have experienced homelessness, incarceration, or other systemic barriers. On July 16th, our workshop in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood was severely damaged in a fire. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the destruction to our workspace and equipment was extensive. We are now seeking support to help us recover and rebuild. Funds raised will go toward replacing essential equipment, covering payroll for our small but mighty team, and managing unforeseen costs that come with restarting after such a loss. This work is more than a business, it's a labor of love. Over the past 7 years, I’ve poured everything I have into this mission. From long nights building furniture out of construction waste, to mentoring formerly incarcerated individuals as they reintegrate into the workforce, Formr has been my way of creating tangible change in the world. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. Formr’s mission has been recognized in @washingtonpost , @archdigest , @fastcompany , @designmilk , @forbes , @interiordesignmag and other national publications, proof that when you align craft, impact, and sustainability, the world pays attention. Now, I’m humbly turning to this community for help. Your support will allow us to keep doing the work: to uplift people, reduce waste, and keep creating beauty with purpose. Please help support us on GoFundMe (link in bio). If you’re unable to donate, you can still make a big impact by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or anyone who believes in circular design, equity, and fresh starts. Thank you for being part of this journey. With gratitude, Sasha Plotitsa

Our partner @theformr , the incredible workshop behind the Healing Forest Tables, just experienced a devastating fire that destroyed their Bay Area studio. This is a major loss for the community of makers who rely on Formr to rebuild their lives. 💛 There are two ways to support: please consider purchasing a Healing Table or donating directly to their GoFundMe (link in bio). 🪵 Healing Forest Tables are still available to order through July 31, with expected delivery delays of 1–3 months. Thank you for your patience and continued generosity 🙏🏽

The response to the Healing Forest Tables has been incredible 🙌🏽 As word spreads about them, more people want to bring these beautiful tables into their homes and support the women from A New Way of Life who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration. 🗓️That’s why we’re thrilled to announce we’re extending the deadline to purchase one of these tables by July 31st. 🌱Made from reclaimed construction debris and crafted by formerly incarcerated individuals, veterans, and immigrants, every purchase of the Healing Forest Tables creates ripples of change. ✨We hope you’ll be inspired to bring beauty home while supporting justice and equity where it’s needed most. Formr is a social enterprise that believes in second chances for people and the planet. They beautifully design objects that reincarnate construction debris and empower formerly incarcerated individuals as well as individuals who’ve experienced homelessness or are recovering from substance use. @TheFormr creates unique items built from repurposed construction that you are not going to find anywhere else. These items are perfect for adding dimension to your offices or hospitality spaces. By purchasing Formr on our marketplace, you are investing in opportunities for individuals while also reducing waste in our landfills. ♻️ Thanks to @normandyhoteldc (@pm_hotelgroup hotel) for sharing some of these images with us from your new sustainable water refill stations, showcasing Formr’s card holders! 💧 Start shopping today by signing up at the link in our bio! 🛒 #SocialEnterprise #Recycle #Sustainable #Office #Hospitality #Decor #InteriorDesign

@TheFormr repurposes wood from construction waste into original furniture designs, like the VegeTable side table and planter in one. Each year more than 500 million tons of construction waste is generated, most of it ending up in overflowing landfills. The Formr motto is “second chances for people and planet”. Their San Francisco-based workshop provides jobs for the formerly incarcerated, and a chance to start over. We support Formr’s dual mission, and you can too.
