I’ve felt ambivalent at best attending industry ceremonies, fulfilling publicity requests and posting editorial content while the world burns. When I meditated the day before our last federal election I received the message to keep bringing the light in the darkness of these times…To embody apricity; the warmth of a winter sun. Here are some of the archetypes that are helping to keep my pilot light lit. To breathe one breath after the other, one day at a time. One true action when I sense it followed by the next actionable piece. It’s my first time collaborating with the generous, supportive and kind @rikerbrothers and it was such an uplifting day. First shoot with my cub Viggo aka @viggostyl aka one of my all time happiest places to exist and play. Thank you killer hmu thank you @cassandraquarto y’all have my heart. Perhaps some bts to follow.

JR: The genre universe has a very passionate fan base and now the Spartacus franchise has been added to your resume. What excites you most about the genre roles you play and about stepping into the world of Spartacus: House of Ashur?
CB: I’ve been spoiled by both the genre itself and fans of it. I guess the upside of being such a little weirdo is that I am cast in complex, interesting roles. And I really feel as though I’m not only giving voice to the outer hedges of womanhood throughout time, the characters that find me help me in turn to find more remote parts of myself. The Spartacus gig itself is challenging. Our Executive producer warned me it was a “ meat grinder,” when offering me the role. It demands everything you’ve got. And tonally it’s a heady mix of requiring letter perfect precision with the archaic language with in other ways not taking itself too seriously. So it’s giving bold, broad brushstrokes in some ways; with the level of violence and bawdiness of the sex, and then served with poetic tongue-twisters. I think my masochistic streak said, “challenge accepted!”

A vintage naked dress. A minge test - yes a minge test with hmu and their bright light in the hotel shining on my crotch to see if you could see my minge because I was entirely naked under that thing. A massive last second wardrobe malfunction. A stiletto boot through dress. Accidental ass reveal. A scramble with the hotel to find needle and thread. A gangster mission with brand spanking UK Agency @engersportelli Nick Portelli and Lola Lee to the f-ing last minute rescue. A plot twist because Lola and I were wearing almost the same outfit. A great partial reunion with our very international cast. A Telly daughter who looks like a real daughter 😱 A gaggle of goddesses and one of my favorite geezers yes you @leigh.gill . A meaningful Q&A and a fun feed with @lionsgate and @mgmplusuk and another late night -early morning burger with some Telly Fam just before sunrise and check out 😱This was a really fun night. My heart feels full and fortunate. London I’ve missed you. Even your sh*t sideways rain.
