The crew finessed and absolutely crushed this build. For many this was their first time to build and shape transition features, some even first time on the rake! All of these beauties shared knowledge, learned new skills, supported one another, actively building their (and other’s) confidence.

Here’s a few sneaky frames while I relive the insane magic that was @thebuild__up with @nothinginthepantry . Women from BC and Alberta came together to build an epic terrain park for the Creative Surge competition at @silverstarmtnresort . Stoked to have met these incredible women over the weekend, and to finally merge two of my passions - snowboarding and filmmaking.

@thebuild__up crew has officially wrapped up and left behind a park for all to enjoy at @silverstarmtnresort but with them they’re each taking home new skills, confidence, connections, memories, insights, dance moves, and so much more.
In 3 short and sunny days, this crew came together as strangers and became a family with a unique and professional park to show for it. The unique lines within it reflecting the different people we each are, together creating something special.

Over the past three and half days the crew worked together and battled the sun to design, create, and polish off the course for Creative Surge at the Gathering Grounds. 💝 Watch to the end to get a look at the snowy play ground the crew created.
This has been an amazing three days with an incredible crew; learning, laughing, creating, and getting world class tan lines. We are beaming and we can’t wait to see the crew throw down on this beautiful creation!

This event may have the outside aspect of physically building a park, but the moments caught in between are the moments that matter the most to us.
Those moments of humanness, where everyone shows up completely as themselves, vulnerabilities and all.

The super stoked.
The ‘I’m just happy to be here.’
The ‘this is the greatest thing I could think of doing with my time.’
There is space for it all. And we strive to remain connected to the humaneness in each step. Not forgetting the whole reason we gather.
