A few habits that make a real difference:
🗑️ Keep garbage and attractants out of your vehicle and stored inside
🔒 If you're using the waste transfer station, make sure it's fully locked every time you drop off
🌿 Secure birdseed, pet food, and compost inside your home
Protecting bears means keeping attractants away from them. When they find food near people, it puts them, and our community, at risk.

Gallery Artiva, the beloved art gallery right in Silver Star Village, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Enterprize Challenge. The Dragon's Den-style competition celebrates entrepreneurs across the North Okanagan, and these two have more than earned their spot.
Co-founders Crispin and Raffaella have built Gallery Artiva into so much more than a gallery. It's a gathering place for local artists, writers, and makers to connect with the community and visitors from around the world.
The final pitch goes down May 7 at the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre. Doors open at 5 pm, pitches start at 6 pm. Come cheer them on. 🏔️
