The Temple began to rise this weekend not by a crew, but by a community. 200+ volunteers came out and together we completed 720 feet of fence, the first boundary of this year’s Temple. Glide through the Temple of the Moon, the 2026 Burning Man Temple, inspired by the Queen of the Night flower, and the rhythm of the lunar cycle. As the camera flies through its curved passages and sacred gathering spaces, the temple unfolds as a place for reflection, remembrance, and collective presence in the desert. It is a great honor to be architect of the BRC temple this year 💪🛠️ So thrilled James trusted me to bring his vision to life 🥰 Introducing the Temple of the Moon, created by the amazing visionary James Gwertzman (@gwertzman ) with support from the Moonlight Collective (@the.moonlight.collective ) and the Temple Build Crew @templebuildersguild . Inspired by the Queen of the Night flower - blooming for a single night each year - this year’s Temple reflects the fleeting nature of Black Rock City’s rhythm of emergence and release. Rising on the playa alongside the moon’s journey from new to full, it offers a space for remembrance, immediacy, and shared presence. (Annnnd the crown petals open and close at night hihi!)
