It’s been a long time since I’ve been at Desert Adventures Metate Ranch. I like what they’ve done to the place. Kim runs a tight ship with this organization and it’s amazing.
The Angry Old Man is an archetype that I’ve witnessed my entire life. Palm Springs is a retired town. Angry Old Men roam the streets like gangs. They harass service workers and anyone in their way. When the summer heat kicks in (it’s kicked in early this year) it’s like harvest season for anger in public. It’s not pretty. Dear God, help me not join that fraternity, that Brotherhood of Angry Old Men. I hope I can always follow my dad’s example. He practiced humor to bring a smile to people he would encounter. Secretaries, cashiers, receptionists, delivery workers. He taught me to do this whenever I can. I get a gold star for making my doctor’s receptionist giggle today. ☺️
