It’s official! The inaugural Future of Us festival is launching across San Francisco from July 4 - 12, 2026! We’re turning the US’s 250th anniversary into a 10-day takeover of art, ideas, and community-crafted visions for the future. For the past year, we’ve traveled the city and country on a civic imagination tour, gathering stories of the futures people want to live in. We’ve collaborated with artists and experts to turn them into vibrant stories and immersive worlds. We’ve resourced grassroots visionaries to shape activations that bring the future of civic life into their own neighborhoods. And we’ve partnered with some of the most forward-thinking institutions to craft new ways to explore ideas and connect with each other. What’s coming: ⚡ 100+ creative civic activations across the city ⚡ 50+ events hosted by 30+ community visionaries ⚡ 20+ partners ⚡ A headquarters featuring art exhibitions, programming, and music at @thepearlsf in Dogpatch ⚡ A digital exhibit and public archive of community visions, released on the 250th anniversary of the US The program is built around four themes: Green Futures. Social Futures. Science & Tech Futures. Media Futures. We’re turning civic reimagining into creative, cultural, and community experiences – think floral labyrinths exploring history, speculative future worlds where decisions are made by all, dance parties with a purpose, and neighborhood meet-ups hosted in third spaces across the city.
