Goal oriented.
I made a goal this year to get my classification in USPSA. I just got my first letter and did it all from AIWB.
🅰️ Class: LO Division.
Excited to check this off my list for 2026. Great start to the new year and hype for what’s yet to come.
Must mention.
Thank you Scott @modern_samurai_project for pushing me to throw my hat in the ring in competitions. I put this off for far too long and that call with you was the driving point to finally make the jump. Appreciate you my bro and I’m grateful for your continued support and guidance.

This is our introduction to moving and shooting course. This is NOT a basic pistol course. Every student must have a great understanding of their firearm and sound fundamentals of drawing from their preferred holster position.

The Tueller Principle.
A fundamental drill you can practice next time you’re at the range.
“The Tueller Principle (commonly called the “21-Foot Rule” or “Tueller Drill”) is a self-defense concept stating that an armed attacker can sprint a distance of 21 feet in about 1.5 seconds - the exact time it takes an average person to recognize a threat, draw a holstered handgun, and fire two shots.Developed by Salt Lake City police officer Dennis Tueller in 1983, the principle highlights the dangers of close-quarters combat:
Action vs. Reaction: It demonstrates that action is faster than reaction. If an attacker with a knife is within 21 feet, they can seriously injure or kill an armed defender before the defender can successfully draw and fire.Reactionary Gap: It serves as a tactical reminder for law enforcement and concealed carriers to maintain a safe distance and be prepared to move, seek cover, or draw early if a potential threat approaches.
Important Considerations:It is not an absolute law:
The 21 feet is just a baseline guideline and not a guarantee.
Movement is key: The principle does not mean an officer or defender should just stand still and shoot. Modern training emphasizes using movement (like stepping backward or to the side) while drawing to buy critical reaction time.”
Shot timers.
A lot of my clients tend to be new owners who are just learning what proper equipment to invest in. I’d say a shot timer is up there in the list of must have items to keep in your range bag.
