What began as a film has grown into something far bigger🌱
Over the past year, Healing Lahaina became a bridge connecting stories of loss with pathways toward resilience, and personal grief with collective action.

A decade of concert going, coffee drinking, nature appreciating, traveling the world, and filming some of it as we go. Redwoods hikes to red carpets, there's no one else I'd rather have as my partner in everything 🐌
So pleased to announce our experimental archival documentary, Dreamland, is headed to a few festivals in the next few months!
This Saturday, August 23rd, catch it playing in the @shortshortsfilmfest at @artxnyc in Chelsea! 🩳 (I hear the shorts are pretty short)
Then on September 20th, you can see it again in New York at the 2nd Annual @climatefilmfestnyc as part of the Tectonics: Experimental Shorts program at Regal Essex Crossing! 🎞️
Finally, if you somehow happen to be in Ghent, Belgium on October 3rd, you can find it playing as a part of Ghent International Film Week at the Velvet Room during Ghent Art Week 🖼️

This year I made the conscious decision to use my voice more
I chose to ask questions, to take risks and opportunities, to tell stories. Working towards climate justice, it feels like it's a time that I can't choose to be quiet
It's been an uncomfortable and difficult year, but it's also led to so many wonderful experiences and new friendships.
So far it's taken me to:
🔹Travel to Miami as a Future Leader
🔹Pick up the camera and join the 12% of women/nb directing films (and just 8% of cinematographers)
🔹Turn my art practice into climate work
🔹Travel to Finland to speak with some of the smartest folks working in climate mental health
🔹Bring awareness to the reality of climate disasters with @healinglahainafilm
🔹Moderate my first panel at @laclimateweek
🔹Host and curate my first ever climate art gallery at @laclimateweek
🔹Be approved to participate in the Summit of the Future at the f*king UN HQ (a very big dream for lil me)
🔹Remember what it is that I am fighting for
I'm so proud to be acting on climate surrounded by so many bright and powerful women 🫶
We won't be silenced. We will continue to speak up. It's time for leaders to listen.

This has been the most emotional project of my life, and I always had full trust in you both to tell this story authentically and with good intentions.
