2025 Synesthesia Show - Differentiation Featuring Dancer: Ceci Sun Bio: Ceci Sun is a dance artist and choreographer from the Bay Area, California, currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. With roots in both commercial and concert dance, her movement vocabulary spans contemporary, hip hop, jazz, Chinese folk, and modern techniques, reflecting a deep interest in fusion and interdisciplinary storytelling. Since the age of 14, Ceci has been choreographing and teaching, driven by a curiosity not only in movement itself but in the philosophical motivations that shape each student’s voice. She continues to freelance across Los Angeles, New York, and the Bay Area, developing a choreographic voice that blends technical rigor with cultural and personal narratives. Her work draws inspiration from psychological and philosophical research, exploring questions of identity, memory, and transformation. Ceci’s choreography often weaves emotionally resonant themes with bold physicality and unexpected contrasts, creating pieces that are both intimate and expansive. Curiosity lies at the heart of her creative process. Through performance, teaching, and creation, Ceci strives to be a catalyst for inquiry—inviting audiences, peers, and fellow artists into embodied experiences that spark reflection and connection.
