One last day until our final concert of the season with @ekmelesvocalensemble !! Composer Yanqi Chen @ychill21 will present her work ‘Even as I Am Silent, and Am Not Wont to Speak.’ About the work: The piece inhabits the precarious threshold between interior thought and exteriorized expression, challenging the conventional hierarchy that treats speech as a mere vessel for stable, semantic meaning. Moving beyond the surface of literal signification, the work invites an intuitive perception of what remains unsaid, allowing the dissolution of language to become an act of liberation that reveals an entangled trace within the vibrant, unresolved tension of silence.

Through interactive sound and animation, the installation invites you to dwell in the in-between.

In just 3 short days, we will present the Rhythm Method featuring this premiere by composer Yanqi Chen (@ychill21 ) ! 📝💭 About the work:  Shards of The Untraced (2025), for String Quartet and Fixed Media  Memory carries a sense of purpose. Old memories are often fragmented and incomplete, yet when a piece of memory stays with us, it becomes more than a recollection. It turns into an emotional tone, an attitude, and a reflection of the deeper desires that shape who we are. This piece is inspired by a childhood moment spent on a window seat during a stormy night. It evokes the interplay between vivid sensory details and the fluidity of recollection, and blurs the line between what is real and what is remembered. Link in bio!
