Aesop Women’s Library My labour of love, 4 months in the making. A friend coined it as “a beautiful love child of #InternationalWomensDay and #AesopQueerLibrary” - I could not agree more! 10 years of sisterhood forged in CHIJ blue, art was esteemed in our curriculum. From Book & Music Week to Literature being a compulsory subject, we had Dead Poets Society style study groups that pore over text, we “wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life”. To have this opportunity to collaborate with stalwarts in the industry @ethosbooks @epigrambooks @booksactually @seabreezebookssg and spotlight authors such as @pnansi who captured my attention with Love Is An Empty Barstool, being enraptured by @stephdogfoot ‘s spoken word poetry, the education I received from @melissadesilva_author , appreciating the linguistic richness found in Malay poems @annalizabakri while delving into the nuances of the human condition with @asenseoffalling . Never in my wildest dreams would I phantom this day. The first time I saw @wweishh was in 2015, when I moved back to SG and was enthused by our burgeoning music scene. @clarencechanxy ‘s @bandwagonasia had a stellar lineup at a block party and I saw @dotgifdotgif perform for the first time. Enthralled by her artistry, she’s been on my radar ever since. Growing up with friends in the music industry, when the opportunity to create a Sounds Of Sisterhood Asian chapter came up, I knew just the person to rope in! It was such a treat to show-off our local talents. Friends who started listening to the Mix raved about new artists they just discovered. That made my heart sing. I adore listening to people in their niche ✨ Where Things Live @un____studio x @inner.teahouse An exhibition and artist talk with @kenlu999 and curated menu created in dialogue with the wares for the show. Learnt about Jingdezhen, China’s porcelain capital and the various glazing and firing techniques. Can’t believe Ken’s introduction to pottery was at 9 via a CCA?! Who would have thought? He shared candidly about his unconventional path fuelled by his foolhardy attitude towards life and “teenage angst”. Hilarious dude! House of Tribal Curiosities with @pulima_store @aeae_furniture A focused workshop led by Felix, whose work centres on Anthropology, Ethnology, Archaeology and Indigenous art. His approach is shaped by years of collecting and connecting with others. Lucky us that we got to listen, touch, feel and be enthralled by the printed matter, Indigenous folk art and musical instruments from around the world. Souvenirs from adventures around the world carrying history, culture and meaning.

So… I started a side quest @rereredux 🤭 I love thrifting! Look how I’m beaming?!? Scored this rad wool checkered skirt that fits me perfectly! Always a priority whenever I travel, and part of regular programming when I lived in Melbourne. There’s something about secondhand shopping - the not knowing, the possibility - that fascinates me. It’s never just about what I find. It’s the conversation that happens. These pieces with past lives, all the adventures it had before it came into my possession. I used to organize flea markets in home club, and various other locations. I miss the seeking and thrill of the find! I wasn’t the only one, it was a gap in the market, and I was itching to organize one again. Guess this full circle moment was a longtime coming! Swipe through to see some of my thrifted fits 💁🏻‍♀️

I’m a fan girl!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I adore my friends, they’re brilliant, intelligent and endlessly fascinating! They get up to cool things and am enamoured! 😍 Secondary: The Musical by @checkpointtheatre had me straight up cackling and in tears the next. @wweishh ‘s wordsmith ways conveyed the delicate themes so tenderly. This masterpiece should be restagged for decades to come! Grateful to be born in the same era to witness her brilliance! @wgsn trend forecasting by @ji3n always has me enraptured and enthusiastically nodding my head. I’ve been to plenty! 🙇🏻‍♀️ Innate ability to contextualise and articulate what I’ve noticed but might not able to find the red thread connecting it all. Glad to connect them with @whoeatsart to speak about food culture, her practice and philosophy. Blessed to have tried her food plenty of times. 🤤 @remedialkids lectures for the culturally curious were introduced by my cerebral mate @treecastles and I’ve been hooked! Attended the recent Food Politics lecture by @chefjennydorsey who studies food as the foundation for human meaning-making and identity formation. If you’re keen on this topic, she has a reading list on @goodreads or you can start with titles such as Frostbite, Ultraprocessed People and The Myth Of The Lazy Native. 📚

Summer back home found me slipping into a familiar routine. Acquainting myself with thy former life, filled with sun drenched days, having arguably earlier days and nights, my style evolves with the environ, my tastebuds changes, the way my feet knows where to carry me, being outdoors chasing that iridescent light, art at every corner, thrifting on the regular, a slower pace and the space to breathe. A part of me that has been unlocked, or perhaps, revived. 🥹

House Of Joy with @dearsamfu Lunar New Year Day 1 outfit secured 🙋🏻‍♀️ A love letter to the women before us, am enamoured by the sister duo as I resonate with their heart of honouring and being inspired by past generation women. I was raised in a matriarch, can you tell? 🤭 Tried their take on contemporary heritage threads @newbahru pop up and experimented with different cheongsams in prints I don’t usually opt for (read: floral) and assortment of fabric. Am eyeing my next grandma approved fit. 🥰
