Hi everyone, for those who may not know me, I’m Velda, Founder of Our Second Nature. It honestly feels quite surreal celebrating ten years of OSN. When we first started, I don’t think we could have imagined what this brand would eventually grow into, or the community that would form around it. And truly, we would not be here today without all of you. Some of you have supported us from the very beginning, some journeyed with us along the way, but everyone of you have played a part in our story. So before anything else, thank you — for believing in us, growing with us, and allowing us to be a part of your lives over the years. It means more than I can put into words.
Looking back on the last decade, there are so many memories that come to mind. There were beautiful seasons, and also really challenging ones. But what stayed constant through it all was our desire to create something meaningful in this marketplace — a brand that is personal, intentional, thoughtful, one that put out products people could connect with and live in.
We’ve been working on the first collection of our anniversary series, Mise-En-Place, which is a French culinary term that means “everything in its place”. It speaks about preparation — the quiet work that happens before the final thing comes together. And as we reflect on what has shaped OSN as a brand, it really is the sum of all parts: gathering inspiration, refining our craft, learning from mistakes, building relationships, and discovering who we are along the way. For us it has truly been about the enjoying the journey with you, not so much about the destination.

For the past 10 years, we’ve been in the kitchen, gathering our favourite things — big and small — to find the perfect rhythm and recipe.
In the culinary world, they call it “Mise-En-Place” (French for “everything in its place”).
A culmination of a decade’s worth of prints, memories, and lessons laid out on the table in anticipation of the feast to come.
