Today is Release day!!! Thrilled to announce the remix of River Flowing by my dear friend, the legendary DJ, producer and remixer @sir_raymond_mang . We met ten years ago on a tropical island in Brazil at @marehmusic and have shared many special moments together since, with him often performing at our @neon.in.nature parties. So many of my most special dance floor moments with friends have been soundtracked by his stunning DJ sets or his releases and his ability to bring warmth, soul and deep groove to a record is something I’ve admired for years. It’s such an honour for him to wrap his formidable musical talents around my music. For those new to Ray Mang, he’s been shaping dance floors since the ’90s. He has released music on iconic labels like R&S and Eskimo, founded Mangled Records, and has remixed everyone from Gorillaz, Friendly Fires and Bryan Ferry to Shirley Bassey and Beck. One of the true pioneers of Balearic culture, his sound bridges disco, house, Balearic and soul in a way that’s timeless and deeply musical. The artwork for this track was also developed through the energy and creative talents of three other dear friends. @maiharamarjorie photographed @yawanawapekuti fishing on the Gregório river beside the Yawanawá Matrinxa aldeia in the Amazon where the song was written and @studioelastik then applied his artistic magic to take the photograph to a mystical dimension, perhaps one that is inhabited by the ancestral spirits of that region. Creating art with friends is truly one of life’s great treasures and I can’t wait for you to hear this track. ← swipe: Over the past year, I had the honour to visually support the university installation tour of @thebombnow — a groundbreaking film-installation by @kesharis and Eric Schlosser, with an original score by @wearetheacid and creative production by @cherefawn From @princeton in New Jersey, to @ahvaubc in British Columbia, @uofdenver in Denver, @uofnm New Mexico, @georgiatech and @spelman_college in Atlanta, the bomb transformed university halls into immersive worlds of film and sound — confronting audiences with one of the most urgent questions of our time: How close are we still to the unthinkable? As new nuclear tests are announced and global tensions rise, the project reminds us that the nuclear threat never disappeared — it only went silent. Design, for us, became a vessel for awareness — a way to translate existential urgency into form. Proud to have continued the design legacy established by @stanleydonwood for the bomb. Deep gratitude to this visionary team for their trust and collaboration. In an age of noise, this project is a call to look closer, to remember, and to act. The next step on our adventure in Bahia. One of the artists who has been a huge inspiration for me as a songwriter has been @finkmusic . He has that rare ability to truly reach people and move them through his music. We went to Brazil together in 2019 and anyone who caught his show at MECA @inhotim will remember that feeling and the energy he created. I’m so excited to announce his remix of Bahia, which will be released on Friday. He strips things right back, adding vocals and revealing a deep melancholy lying just beneath the surface that only he could feel. ∴ 11 years ago my friend Sarah Littasy @iliketomoveitnet (who by the way is also the visionary behind a lot of early Kruder & Dorfmeister and Tosca artwork) and me threw a bunch of paints, inks and other liquids together in my kitchen to cook up the visuals for @wearetheacid debut single ANIMAL. So special to work alongside my beautiful dear friend and wildly talented creative @snalepa on the video for THE ACID’s new single BREED. Besides co-writing and co-producing this gorgeous song, Steve also created these mesmerising rolling alien landscapes with his unparalleled technical wizardry and I envisioned hiding them more and more as the song progresses, luring you into the hypnotising depth of these frequencies. Sammlungsbestände des vorarlberg museums zu Gast bei Metzler naturhautnah → Over 30 employees of Metzler naturhautnah in Egg in Bregenzerwald selected objects from the vorarlberg museum's collection to be presented in their working environment. The title of the collaborative project is a reference to the sculpture "Hausgeist" by artist Tone Fink from 1981/82 and is representative of a large number of very different works of art and everyday objects that were on display in changing constellations in the Metzler naturhautnah premises over a period of six years. → The book is a comprehensive documentation of this project with over 150 photographs by Petra Rainer. 🍺 Beer labels and merch we recently designed for ÅNDAS, a speciality beer by Emeka Ogboh for @eggenbergerbier “Brewed in cooperation with the Capital of Culture 2024 and the Nigerian sound artist Emeka Ogboh, this speciality beer impresses with its innovative recipe and the use of high-quality, intercultural raw materials. Brewed in a limited edition and in the style of traditional Austrian beer, it also uses ingredients of African origin such as sorghum and pepper. Åndas beer not only quenches thirst, but is also a socio-cultural initiative that encourages shared reflection and discovery.” Emeka Ogboh connects with places through his sense of hearing and taste. In his audio installations and gastronomic works, Ogboh explores how private, public and collective memories and histories are translated, transformed and encoded in sound and food. Art Your Village - the foreign view. In development for #salzkammergut2024 This project is about local identities from smaller villages in the Salzkammergut. Artists or groups of artists deal with these places and develop projects in form of interventions over the course of the year.
