8th Milan Design Week in the books — and this one was special. Had the rare chance to walk the city with
@amypang_word (
@mpw.culture , Executive Editor) and photographer
@polarboki . A full day of design-hunting, talking, and getting happily lost together.
Started the day at Piscina Romano for
@6am_glass 6:AM’s “OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER” — and honestly? Jaw on the floor. We just kept stopping mid-sentence because the light kept doing something impossible. Towering walls of glass blocks catching sun, prismatic installations bleeding colour across dark rooms, delicate glass studies that shift with every single step. So rewarding.
Then we bolted to SaloneSatellite — ground zero for the wild, the untested, and the “wait, HOW did they even make that?!” Hands down to
@mingdesignstudio_official ’s new Starpic that mimics the stars in the sky. Fresh energy, zero fear, exactly the kind of beautiful chaos that keeps Milan Design Week honest.
Then a long chat with
@steveleungdesigngroup — candlesticks, marble, craft, and why early mornings in Milan hit different when the light is this good and the company is even better. He walked us through his brand new Milan office and showroom, unveiled a sleek cigar tray he’s been refining, and showed off his latest outdoor furniture line that somehow feels both brutal and inviting. Getting the tour from the man himself — watching him talk through material choices and spatial logic in real time — that’s the real design education.
From prismatic pools to satellite experiments to Steve’s new HQ. Brain stretched in all the right directions. Still buzzing. 🇮🇹✨
Shall we do that again next year? 🫣🥰
