A huge thanks to the @loewefoundation team for creating an incredible experience and the beautiful exhibition at @museothyssen , the National Museum at the heart of Madrid. Beyond the excitement of being one of the 30 finalists, it has been a valuable time to meet with the other artisans and learn from each of them. It is a very huge encouragement for me to keep moving on craftsmanship, push it further and keep making better works in the future. The Pleats Vase No.7 has been exhibited around in different places in the past year. Before the arrival in Madrid, it was exhibited in Brussels. A big thanks to @spazionobilegallery that's has always been supporting me and my work! The exhibition @museothyssen will open until 29th June. #ddng #loewefoundationcraftprize #loewefoundation

During March and April, I was spending my wonderful time on a two-month art residency held by @rohsska and @iaspis.se Instead of making collectible objects and furniture, I focused on making temporary on-site installations instead. I was away from all other businesses but highly focused on observation and rumination of trees, branches, and twigs. How does nature turn into matter? Every work I made was a reinterpretation of the growth of a tree in a more metaphorical presentation. What is naturalness? And why are we intimate with wood? What makes nature natural? All the works are made of wood found, collected, and recycled in the city of Gothenburg. Here are the general views of my works during the residency. A big thanks once again to everyone i have met at @rohsska during the residency. Without any of your help, the whole project will never be the same!♥️

@dd_ng just had a massive year — exhibiting at When Apricots Blossom @uzbekistanmdw (one of the most praised shows in the city, longest queue, and for good reason) AND landing a spot at Rosanna Orlandi Gallery in Milan. @rossana_orlandi That’s two continents, two radically different contexts, and one clear signal: Didi’s voice as a designer is traveling far and resonating hard. Couldn’t be happier to see a Hong Kong designer & artist truly making an impact at the MDW. 🙌 And thanks for the vip pass to skip the super long queue! 📍 Blossom, Uzbekistan / Rosanna Orlandi Gallery, Milan #DidiNg #RosannaOrlandi #BlossomUzbekistan #StudioRYTE 👩🏻 📝 @amypang_word from @mpw.culture

A new coffee table with four flame feet. Two little fruit bowls for your favourite apples🍎🍏. Only two days left for the exhibition at @rossana_orlandi for the MDW26. Don’t miss it! - Rocket coffee table, 2026 Spruce, ink, lacquer H40x104x74cm Unique piece - Following my materiality-oriented approach to wood, the design collection, ‘In between wood and fire’, seeks to reveal and celebrate wood’s inherent natural qualities. The material choice centres on solid-sawn 10x10cm construction lumber that is rarely used in furniture making because of its tendency to crack and deform. I employed these cons into defining characteristics of each piece. By employing a combination of fundamental carpentry techniques, including splitting, carving, and charring, the collection brings forward a raw and expressive language. Through this process, the works invite a renewed appreciation for a material that is often overlooked. - Galleria Rossana Orlandi @rossana_orlandi Via Matteo Bandello 14 Opening hours Mon 20 - Sun 26 April, 09:30 - 20:00

Didi NG Wing Yin (@dd_ng ), an artist and designer from Hong Kong, presented a bread tray and chykich as part of the When Apricots Blossom pavilion (@uzbekistanmdw ) at Milan Design Week. His practice is rooted in the principle of naturalness: he works with materials in a way that preserves and reveals their inherent qualities, which become visible through the form, texture, and tactility of each object. The tray is made using natural materials from the Karakalpakstan region, embedding an ecological context of the Aral Sea area into the work and strengthening its connection to the specific territory and its environmental memory. @acdfuz

Reed Field Soft reeds, rooted in soil and water, rise to support non as it meets the sun, where grain and fire complete the cycle. Inspired by Blaise Pascal’s reflection that man is a thinking reed, each strand becomes a gesture of thought, holding space for bread as both sustenance and symbol Honest in form and humble in presence, the piece reflects the spirit of Uzbek bread culture, where making becomes meaning Designed by Didi NG Wing Yin in collaboration with Nursultan Qosbergenov and Boburjon Atabayev. #WhenApricotsBlossom #MilanDesignWeek #ACDF
