i decided it's time to stop "thinking about" making a film, and decided it's time to just fu**ing make one.
only had two small roadblocks really; no budget and very little time to shoot. minor bumps. i also knew if i decided to go fwd with one of my more polished scripts i'd likely just be setting myself up for a crippling wave of self-loathing(when i can't make the film the way i really want). i'm fragile like that. so i started from scratch. wrote something new, very quickly. and actually aimed to treat it more like an exercise. aka non-public. but then i hired(asked them to work for pennies) some of the most talented cast/crew in the land and it quickly turned into something more special. something we felt like releasing to the world. straight testament to the collaborative process amongst friends and like-minded individuals.
& since this film was shot in seattle, by people who live in seattle, it was only right for it to premiere in...seattle. extremely grateful to SIFF (
@siffnews ) for not only accepting our film, but for all that they do in rising the tides for this filmmaking community.
"Last Dawn of the 6th" premieres on May 16th/6:30pm/Egyptian Theater in a short-film block filled with 7 other incredible films. come check it out. in addition to as many other films as you possibly can that week.
the film is an allegorical chance encounter between humanity and nature. posing the question; what do we do with the power that we hold?
