🎬 Introducing James Hyde – The Very Thought of You 🎬
Excited to share the official poster for our WWII short film based on the true story of Warrant Officer James Hyde, a Trinidadian RAF pilot who sacrificed everything for freedom.
Starring @davidjonsson__ David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus, Industry) and directed by myself, this film captures the intensity of aerial combat and the emotional journey of love and heroism.
Huge thanks to @spitfiresdotcom , @cookeoptics , @molinarepost Creative Group, Tamana Bleasdale, Benjamin Hollway, and all the incredible cast and crew involved in bringing this special story to film in breathtaking 8K.
Stay tuned for more updates as we head toward our 2025 theatrical and festival release! A @stampproductions film by @benjamin_uttley

The unseen story of UFC fighter @arnoldbfa . 🎥🍿
I’ve been working on this for more than 2 years now. Hundreds of hours poured into doing the story justice. I’ve had the chance to embed in a @ufc fight week and interview some legends of the sport, including @mikebisping and @firas_zahabi
The film tells the story of one of the most talented, complex, and misunderstood fighters in the sport.
Stay tuned.

This picture was taken just moments after stepping out the car in Cape Agulhas, knowing we had just broken a record that had stood for over 70 years. The purpose of Cape to Cape was to traverse an extensive land route, that is notoriously challenging to navigate, in a record breaking time. In doing so we ventured through 25 countries in less than a month, and witnessed an extraordinary variety of terrain, infrastructure and places of natural beauty.
I always had it in mind to be on the look out for a standout location to return to, in order to anchor the experience for me not only as an adventurer, but as an artist. My entire philosophy is built around the notion to ‘Always Look Twice’ so it only made sense to return in a way that allows for me to engage at a more attentive pace.
Whilst there are endless possibilities in terms of locations to explore further along this route, the place that leapt to the top of my list was Namibia, where I am currently headed for the next couple of weeks. I will be joined by Toby @bruder_expedition who was also on the C2C expedition, my trusted film crew @stampproductions , as well as my all time favorite travel companion, my wife Paula. More to come soon.

There’s a reason some of the biggest films still reach for vintage glass.
After seeing Dune: Part Two, we went down a bit of a rabbit hole…and ended up with 3 Soviet-era lenses from Ukraine.
No idea how they’ll perform - but that’s kind of the point.

“This was the hardest thing I have ever done, and at times I genuinely questioned whether it was worth it.
But the journey concentrated the human experience in almost every sense — visually, emotionally and creatively. Being taken so far beyond my comfort zone for such an extended period taught me an enormous amount about myself and brought new clarity to how and when I want to document the countries we passed through.
It was profoundly valuable, and it left me deeply grateful for both what I have and the opportunities I have been afforded. This trip reminded me of the importance of continuing to learn, grow and expand our sense of what life can be.” — John Balsdon

Not the location we planned.
Definitely not the setup we wanted.
But we made it work.
This is what filming hundreds of interviews teaches you - how to solve problems fast and still make it look intentional.
Curious - what’s the worst spot you’ve had to shoot in?

FIGHTING CHANCE: A Short Documentary
Boxing is Rhythm. Hope is the Fight. 🥊
Last year, my team and I had the opportunity to film a short documentary with @stampproductions and talk about our outreach work at the Lennox Lewis League of Champions Foundation. 💫🥊
Synopsis: Jamaica is one of the most beautiful yet violent countries in the world, where many young people grow up surrounded by crime and economic hardship. Former heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis wants to change that. Through his non-profit programme, ‘League of Champions’, boxing becomes a tool to teach discipline and self-belief, both inside and outside the ring. 🎥 🇯🇲
We hope that this documentary can give you all a glimpse into the lives of young Jamaicans today, and understand the work that we do at @locf_org
