After he was expelled from school as a teenager,
@davidjonsson__ bounced around for a while, working at pubs and as an Abercrombie & Fitch model before dedicating himself to acting. At 23, he made his West End debut. Then, a plum role in ‘Industry’ skyrocketed the CULT100 cover star into the limelight.
Now, with 2025’s coveted BAFTA Rising Star Award in hand, all eyes are on Jonsson’s upcoming projects. ‘The Chaperones’ reunites him with Cooper Hoffman, his co-star from the dystopian Stephen King adaptation ‘The Long Walk.’ Next, there’s the Stateside release of gritty prison drama ‘Wasteman.’ We’re also awaiting details on his starring roles in Colman Domingo and Frank Ocean’s upcoming directorial debuts. In the midst of it all, he reconnected with his other ‘Chaperones’ co-star Paul Dano to compare notes on life in front of the camera.

// The 100 individuals on CULTURED’s third annual CULT100 list span disciplines and generations. Some are household names, others operate behind the scenes. All of them are choosing risk over reward, curiosity over cynicism, and are shaping culture in real time. Each offers something that the algorithm never will. //
