#memademay2026 I ignored this pattern for a long time but now that I have made one I know there will be more. The #closetcorejenna @closetcorepatterns is definitely worth making. This is the size xxs with 2” added to the straight cropped length. (I am 5’7”) To make the short sleeves, I cut 1 1/2” above the placket line then hemmed a total of 1 1/2”. The block printed cotton from my trip to India is the perfect weight for a summer top. The instructions were great and the shirt went together quickly! Now I am thinking of a linen one! #memademade2026 I am strolling through the forest in my newly released #closetcoreaylin @closetcorepatterns . I like the minimalistic look of this design though I am not totally sure how well the wrap skirt will stay closed! There is a button inside as well as the ties on the outside, but the wrap itself is angled. It might look cool layered over pants and a tee so maybe I will take that route. I love this colour ( me and orange! ) and linen is the perfect fabric choice. Definitely a wearable toile! @threadcountfabrics Enjoy your weekend and Happy May Long Weekend to my fellow Canadians!

#memademay2026 I am slowly stitching my way through my embroidery book @madeleine_illustration I have used linen from @wearethefabricstore to make the @sewhouse7 #remyraglan as my top. Their linen is amazing and makes a lovely substrate to embroider on! Worn here with my @helens__closet linen #falconerpants. You won't be disappointed if you sew these patterns!! I love the selvedge on this handloomed jamdani cotton that I was able to buy directly from the artisan in India. It just had to be used as the hem on a skirt and #laciotatskirt #sewingtherapylaciotat @yoursara_k is the perfect pattern to showcase this fabric. The pattern is simple to sew and judging from other posts can be made in a variety of fabrics. A nice pop of colour and a new elevated basic for me! #memademay2026

#memademay2026 The new #madronepants pattern @sewliberated caught my eye so I bought it as soon as it was released. I have never made anything like this before. The curved seams drew me in! They were fun to sew up in this sand washed cotton from @blackbirdfabrics .I knew the rise was going to be too low but I was able to gain just under an inch in height by using 1 1/2 “ elastic and turning under 1/4” instead of 5/8” called for in the pattern. Also left off the drawstrings since I didn't know where they would end up. I made the 28” inseam and they are perfect! Now I feel like a cool girl😎. #memademay2026 Here are some more garments worn on repeat. When hiking I like to wear comfortable clothes like these #dartsidejeans made into jorts @houseofizzie . Check out the back pocket !This ventana twill is the perfect weight for shorts! My top is #fibremoodabina sewn up in soothe knit from @brightsidefabricco . This fabric lives up to its name …. So comfy! I made my own piping for the neckline and really like the look. Each of my hiking partners are wearing something that I sewed for them! @#memadeeveryday. @tasha.pea

#memademay2026 Today is a quilting day. If I am not sewing clothes, I am most likely on the longarm machine quilting for others. I used to hang my scissors around my neck, but got into a hazardous position and almost choked myself. Now I wear this cute little apron that I made and embroidered years ago. The pattern is by @samanthamaylamb which was featured in making magazine 6. I also made the pincushion and clip holder (both from wool). My other me mades include my linen #abouttownpopovershirt @patternemporium_kate and my twill #pomonapants @annaallenclothing . I wear pretty much exclusively me made clothing. They fit me so much better than the rtw versions. #memadeeveryday #sewover50

I have made these from 2 cotton/linen canvas prints that have finally been liberated from my stash. Perfect weight!! I can put all kinds of prints together in a quilt but when it comes to clothing I am a bit more sedate! #memademay2026 Here are two garments that get worn on repeat. I love folk art and these designs from the book “threads” by @madeleine_illustration are so good. The tiger and bird were embroidered with three stitches using six strands of @dmc_embroidery thread. My #impalashirt @julesmsmit was the perfect canvas to stitch on. The fit is oversized with pleats in the centre back and sleeves. I highly recommend this pattern…the instructions are excellent! I am also wearing my 4th pair of free range slacks @sewhouse7 . Obviously, this is a pattern that works well for me! Both garments are sewn in everyday linen @pure_linen_envy . #memadeeveryday

Today is the first day of #memademay and I plan on sharing new me mades as well as remakes and reworn clothes. I am a hiker. It is still chilly in the mornings so I am wearing layers on my walk today. My tops are the #pacificpullover (2025) @greenstyle_patterns , the #brunswickpullover (2022) @heyjunehandmade and the #archerworkpants @matchymatchysewingclub (2024) . The Nordic Summer issue @taukomagazine is out! I chose to sew the #taukosaga pants designed by Essi Kontio @eik.a out of a lovely cotton/linen blend from @merchantandmills @simplififabric . I changed the 4 pleats on each side to be 2 larger ones and this has perhaps exaggerated the fullness even more! I cut the fabric on the cross grain and used the selvage for the hem as there wasn’t enough fabric to cut on the vertical grain. My top is the @fibremood #fibremoodabina . Using a pattern from the new embroidery book “threads” by @madeleine_illustration , I stitched a fish on the front of this French terry . I have been wearing both nonstop. I love a wide leg pant! #makeandshare19 #taukomakeandshare

It’s Friday and @fridaypatterncompany has a new pattern out! I tested this lovely #canyontop #canyondress and love it! The v-neck has a placket with a band collar. You can make a top or a dress with either short or long sleeves. Mine is made out of linen @pure_linen_envy . The skirt is just 2 rectangles the width of the fabric with a fold over elastic waistband. I bought the block printed cotton in India. I am currently making a long sleeve top too.
