A snippet from First Pressings, hosted by Split and @peoplepoweredpress last weekend as part of Saltaire Arts Trail @saltaireinspired . First pressings is an exhibition of letterpress prints and album artwork for international jazz starts and alternative artist by Oli Bentley of design studio Split. The handmade original letterpress prints included work for renowned jazz and instrumental artists including Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Zarik Hussain, John Patitucci, Jasper Høiby, Lionel Loueke, Matthew Bourne, Mark Guiana and Ben Wendel. A refresh of the brand identity and design work for our oldest client, @keswickfilm . Oli first worked with Keswick Film Festival whilst still at college in Carlisle — a live brief that came into the studio for students to work on, with the winning design being used for the Festival’s promotion that year. Some 18 years on and we still work together, and it’s a total pleasure to have maintained a relationship with such a lovely festival and group of passionate volunteers for all these years. Run by local film lovers with the aim of bringing the best in independent cinema from all over the world to their beautiful corner of the Lake District, the festival is a real treat of a weekend — whether you’re a film buff or not. The festival runs across three venues: Theatre by the Lake in Keswick @tbtlake , Keswick Alhambra @keswick_alhambra_cinema in Keswick, and Rheged @rheged_centre in Penrith, and it’s always felt like a really special event — bringing a huge variety stories and perspectives to the North, whilst also celebrating and platforming Cumbrian film making through the Osprey Short Film Award. It’s an event — and a group of people — that are very close to our heart, and it’s been great to see the festival grow from strength to strength. Big love KFF x 6/6, rest on the grid
