Not many remember that Susumu Yokota played alongside Phillip Glass in 2002. They performed together on Friday 26th April at The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, then Yokota supported him again on Sunday 28th April at Edinburgh Queens Hall.
'I seem to recall he was at the side doing a laptop set with no visuals or backdrop. The stage was taken up with a grand piano for Mr Glass and very little in the way of staging. Keeping it minimal as you'd expect (...) A great billing. I know that I was very excited about Susumu as I was/still am a huge fan of Sakura and Grinning Cat. I still have the ticket stub, and a booklet from the event.' said Alex Spiers, who shared his memories with us and was kind enough to send us the flyers he kept all those years.
Those performances were a part of Yokota’s mini UK & Ireland tour. He played at The Shelter in Dublin on Saturday 27th April 2002 alongside Chequerboard and at London’s Dingwalls on Tuesday 30th April with Rothko supported by DJs Ross Allen and Tony Morley (The Leaf Label).
Lo Recording's Jon Tye who attended the London show remembers: 'this was the only time I met Susumu in person...despite the language barrier I felt a strong connection and even though he’s no longer with us physically I still feel that connection'.

It’s 15 years ago today since the first Roll The Dice release on The Leaf Label – the Live In Gothenburg 12”. The duo of @pedermannerfelt and @malcolmpardon were channelling themes of industrialisation via their analogue electronics and Rhodes piano set-up. Live In Gothenburg followed an eponymous debut album, and RTD would go on to release full length albums In Dust and Until Silence on Leaf, with further releases on their own The New Black label.
To mark the occasion, we’ve put together a CD/digital bundle of RTD’s first three albums (plus digital versions of two associated EPs) at a special price, only available on Bandcamp. Also available are the last few vinyl copies of the Live In Gothenburg EP.

Craven Faults – Sidings 4CD box set is shipping now and will be in shops very shortly.
Thanks for your patience while we got the manufacturing right. It is long sold out on Bandcamp but your local independent record shop may have an allocation.
In a somewhat unlikely turn of events, Matthew Bourne’s magnificent moogmemory - the record he made in tribute to his beloved Lintronics Advanced Memorymoog (LAMM), and to his friends and colleagues - turned ten this week. As far as we’re aware it is still the only album produced entirely on that incredible instrument. Rumour has it, he is working on the follow up as we speak.
We’ve unearthed a handful of test pressings of each of Bourne’s Leaf albums to mark the occasion. They’ve been signed by the man himself, and are available on his Bandcamp if you’re quick.
