Material Prophecies: Craft as Divination opens 2.20-8.1 at @armoryarts 🌀 curated by @taylorpatrice 💐 i’m showing a new conception of 𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚍𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 as a generative, participatory, 3 channel immersive installation with a score by @soft___future featuring @davidmosessss @lanitrock @she_govinda @vontiveros___ @earth__poems @sheets0fsound @tommasocappellato & May Rose Smeback 🌸 Mixed by @davidmosessss & Mastered by @matthewdavidmcq ☀️ This clip features @summer.bowie & @buckleynow 🌊 thank you to everyone who has inspired and contributed to this work coming to life! thank you Taylor for the invitation to participate ~ it’s an honor to share space alongside beautiful works from @jackieamezquita @aprilbey_ @calethiadecontostudio @turboglitchy @nicanahuac @vanessalgerman & @shifty_shellmound ~ Material Prophecies: Craft as Divination brings together eight artists who turn to craft to divine memory, enact ritual, and seek knowledge of the future. Working with earth, fiber, metal, cyanotype, terracotta, and film, they carry ways of understanding the world passed through generations, giving form to what is felt, inherited, and unseen. Through these practices, material becomes both medium and oracle, connecting with Spirit, place, and ancestral knowledge. Rooted in the San Gabriel Valley, where cycles of wildfire, floods, winds, and regrowth shape the landscape, the exhibition reflects on time as nonlinear and ever returning. The artist’s works echo these rhythms, suggesting that transformation is both inevitable and generative, and that materials remember across distance and lineage.

photosynthesis tonight! 7-11p presented by @corduroygarden_ at @psstudio_dtla 🌻 a very special lovers edition curated by @bear__glass 💕 💐💐💐 Photosynthesis is series focused on live experimental electronica with a wide range of emotions and energies. In the past the shows have been curated with artists who specialize in synths, modular, indie bands, acoustic sessions, free jazz, poetic blends and even some dance floor moments. Photosynthesis takes a collaborative approach to curating with 7 Los Angeles music fiends who have a knack for connecting artists and organizing. Join us for a special “Lover’s Edition”, Bear from Johnson Valley curates this special lineup of couple in electronica. An evening filled with sonic bliss sure to make your heart sing just a few days before Valentines Day. Maybe tonight is where you’ll ask them to be your valentines <3 About the artists... Sharada Shashidhar and Caleb Buchanan are a Los Angeles-based musical duo known as Two Point, specializing in improvised, genre-fluid music blending jazz, ambient, and electronic textures. They are active in the local scene, featuring vocals from Shashidhar—trained in traditional Indian music. Nicolas & Susana create improvisational soundscapes influenced by nature’s beauty. With vocals, saxophone, percussion, and electronics, they create immersive musical ecosystems. Their music explores imagined worlds, ethereal realms and subtle rhythms, like bird songs in a forest. soft future is an ephemeral music collective stewarded by Lani Trock and David Moses. The group’s central intention is to transcend limits and touch spirit. Their performances are improvisational, multi-sensory journeys, activating the language of music as a transmitter of universal consciousness. Often participatory in nature, their work invites audience members to co-create together, opening portals to imaginal worlds and new dimensions. Passionfruit at Samgelis share a vast vinyl collections that’s built from travels unearthing obscure finds to share with listeners near and far. flier by @srk3 🌸 photo by @momilaniramstrum 🌻

SOLD OUT! Del Vaz Projects x Getty Research Institute Tastemakers: Ram Dass Sunday, December 21, 2025, 6 PM (Winter Solstice) The second of two programs presented in partnership between Del Vaz Projects and the Getty Research Institute will feature Ram Dass’s Cookbook for a Sacred Life. Published by the Lama Foundation the year before Dass’s famed book on spiritual awakening, Be Here Now, the “recipes” in his 1970 cookbook do not list ingredients or preparation instructions, but rather offer philosophical and ritual guidelines for how eating informs and nourishes the soul, as the body “is our temple where we live and where we do the work of becoming enlightened,” (17). A celebration of the winter solstice, the evening will highlight a shared, plant-based meal led by Anjali Deva @anjalidevaayurveda , Southern California-based Ayurvedic practitioner and Founder of @rootedrasa , who will guide dinner guests through contemplative, communal conversations inspired by Ram Dass’s teachings on presence, compassion, and interconnectedness. The dinner will include a live meditative soundscape by @soft___future , an experimental ensemble blending generative and environmental sound. Del Vaz Projects’ exhibitions, publications, and public programming are made possible through support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, The Teiger Foundation, The City of Santa Monica Cultural Affairs, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Department of Arts and Culture. @warholfoundation #warholgrantee #warholfoundation #teigerfoundation @lacountyarts @delvazprojects #delvazprojects
