To my surprise, there was a queue waiting to have their limited edition Collins Typeface Specimen keepsake signed. The first photo is ~8 minutes after we finished the class. Type designers don’t expect a queue for autographs unless perhaps from other type designers.
The shape note symbols on the t-shirts are also using the new music font.
It was suggested I experience the center during a song. Rachel Hall kindly agreed to lead. Unexpectedly(?), I co-lead as the song went on. Now, I’m also in The Sacred Harp Minutes. Rachel was also one of the key music copyists engraving the songs.
#campfasola is the first time we’ve shown the new music font for The Sacred Harp, 2025 Edition, along with glimpses of the book. Release is September 2025 at the 2025 session of the United Sacred Harp Musical Association in Atlanta.
We’ll talk more about the music typeface design at a one-day forum on the revised edition the day before at Emory University. Designed by Jeff Kellem
