Pokemon music hit different as a kid because the stakes felt real, even for a turn-based game.
As I was making sounds for my pack Acacia Fantasy, a love letter to Fantasy RPG games, I wanted to have music representative of enemy encounters.
So I tried to reverse-engineer that feeling using Chromaphone 3. I think Chromaphone 3 landed perfectly in that world with its bright and hybrid textures, perfect for a clash between opposing forces. But what do you think?

I seriously think physical modelling is so underrated in the world of sound design.
The possibilities of pushing simulated objects to their limits to generate incredibly nuanced and hybrid textures is truly fascinating to me and @appliedacoustics absolutely nailed that with Chromaphone 3.
This synth is one of the most inspiring synths in my toolkit, and it capabilities inspired me to create Acacia Fantasy. A collection of sounds simulating the various locations, instruments, and UI sounds of Fantasy RPG Adventure games.

I absolutely love crafting worlds. I want nothing more than to get lost in the worlds that I create. To explore and be filled with so much grandeur and wonder.
Acacia Fantasy is a collection I put together re-envisioning the classic Fantasy Adventure genre, and I knew from the start that Chromaphone 3 was the only synth that could bring it to life.
Chromaphone 3 is by far one of the most unique synths I’ve come across. Unlike traditional synths, it’s built on physical modelling, which means instead of manipulating waveforms or samples, I’m sculpting sounds that behave like real physical objects. I can mash a clarinet and a harp together, or straight up invent a whole new “real-world” instrument that’s never existed before. That kind of freedom felt like the perfect match for a world I was building from scratch. My love for that synth is poured into every single sound in Acacia Fantasy, and I hope when you load these presets, you feel the world too.

Who’s ReSeT Ryan Tram?
ReSeT Ryan Tram is a multi-instrumentalist, music technologist, and multimedia artist who blends sound and visuals into immersive, glitch-infused experiences. His work combines pixelated rhythms, lush harmonies, and anime-inspired aesthetics to create distinctive audiovisual worlds.
An International Live Beat Champion (ILBC) and graduate of Berklee Valencia, he has taught music production and sound design at post-secondary institutions across Canada. As a performer, he integrates glitched visuals with live music in festivals, competitions, and stage shows.
His genre-blending productions fuse nostalgia with digital surrealism, spanning lo-fi hip-hop, future bass, hyperpop, and indie alternative R&B.
