"I need true equality to breathe."
A couple weeks ago, I joined hundreds of people in supporting a Juneteenth music event called "Funk the Police."
As I arrived at the park, students from @miltonacademy were taking photos for a project called @ineed__tobreathe , asking us to fill in the blank. Check out the photos they are posting and read about what we need to breathe as a society.
After my pup and I got our picture taken, we walked up the hill and joined hundreds of people sitting in the grass in small groups, socially distanced, wearing masks, and listened to local black musicians. Between artists, mothers who have lost their children to police brutality in Massachusetts told their stories. Those stories were heartbreaking.
But there was inspiration and hope to be found that day, as well.
Hundreds of people gathered, peacefully, to support this moment. Individuals brought boxes of bottled water and snacks to share with any who needed it. A dozen or more medics were on site, just in case. And we all cried together and shared the sorrow of mother's loss. We were together. We yelled the names of the young men who should not be dead.
We joined together to demand a better future for all of our families.

We're launching our summer session, teaching slacklining to refugee and low income Lebanese youth in Bekaa Valley with an awesome group of volunteers.

Organizing a highline festival leaves little time for highlining during said festival. Especially when the long days and short nights, weeks on end, inevitable lead to illness. So I was stoked to get to play on this beauty (63m t-wave) while Bradley checked out the 65m unicorn line next to me.

to ease my jetlag, and a perfectly timed arrival of one of my favorite humans.
On my way to Lebanon this week, I stopped in Copenhagen for a day so we could pick up equipment on loan from @movecopenhagen .

I've known about this highline for almost four years, since I first met Bradley (@thebradosaurus ). It was the first highline he ever rigged and the first he attempted, but he had never sent it. After suffering an injury in the attempt, he moved away before he could complete the challenge.
In the years since, this has become one of the more iconic highline in the US, tucked under a bridge along the California coast.
Yesterday, I had the double pleasure of watching him accomplish a long sought goal and of sending the line myself after him.
