The last time I climbed this mountain was in November 2022 with @liendoadam . Unsurprisingly, it was a lot colder then. This time I even wore my trail running shoes up to crampon point. Climbing alone is a different game. Waking up at midnight, making a coffee, sorting your gear and leaving camp under your own accord brings a silence and self-reliance that makes you grow up quickly. I am well-versed at this now (which is perhaps why I feel so old!) There are no shared responsibilities; you shoulder 100% of the burden yourself, and you realise that you fall to the standard you set when nobody is watching. Climbing alone gives you an opportunity to discover parts of your character you may never otherwise see - there is no hiding and there can be no pretending… and if you do yourself proud, then it harbours trust in yourself that you carry forever. Do I enjoy doing this? Frankly I don’t really know anymore, but it doesn’t matter - I’ve told myself that I will do it, and that’s all that counts. I’ve been sitting in the clouds at Everest Base Camp now for a couple of days - it’s been pretty bad weather but apparently the route to c2 is now open. Soon I’ll head up to camp 2 and get this show on the road! #islandpeak #himalayas #mountains #ebc #lhotse

The Project Unbreakable team have completed their training and preparations to move through the Khumbu Icefall. Every vertical metre gained is a step towards @mountainmanbase flying the flag for #everydaughtermatters on the summit, followed by setting an all-time world record. Built in Sheffield. Worn on Everest. @buffalosystems is proud to supply the team with UK-manufactured survival apparel. Follow the journey to the summit and the leap into history. I never know if @mountainmanbase is planning on base jumping off the top of the world, felling a tree, or doing the washing up! #dressedforanyoccasion One thing is for sure, what he will achieve in the coming weeks will be unlike anything in history… world record inbound! We have very different objectives on this expedition (I’m definitely not looking to base jump off Everest!) but tonight we’ll head up through the icefall together to get a good rotation in. For me, I’m hoping to sleep at Everest camp 3 in the next few days, maybe higher, so I’ll be good-to-go for when a summit window for Lhotse comes around. Big thanks to @warriormonk22 for coming up to see us off, and for facilitating the projects like the champion he is! šŸ‘Š I’ll likely not have any internet for the next 5 days or so until I’m back down to base camp

In my defence it’s hard to moonwalk in crampons! No guide, no sherpa; just me and a 20,000ft Himalayan mountain! 🄶 Yesterday I climbed solo to the summit of Imja Tse (Island Peak) at 6189m. I’d like to say a huge thank you to @businessmovers.tech and @pwrr_the_tigers for making this expedition possible šŸ«¶šŸ™Œ and a big shoutout to @realmealuk for being my nutrition partner šŸ‘Š I’ll be at Everest base camp in a couple of days to start climbing Lhotse, the world’s 4th highest mountain. A big thank you to all who have donated to my expedition fundraiser to help ChildReach Nepal. If you haven’t yet donated, head to the link in my bio to be an utter legend. Any amount helps šŸ˜€šŸ‘Š #lhotse #himalayas #mountainlife #nepal #mountaineering

Arrived to Dingboche today, 4410m above sea level. I went for a short trail run above the village to keep the movement going - feeling good but definitely more adaptation to be had with the altitude. In about 4 days I will head up Island Peak at around 6160m which has amazing views! It’s a mountain I’ve climbed twice before, and it never fails to humble me with its beauty. #lhotse #nepal

When I reached the summit of Mount Everest in 2021 it was with a Monk from the local Buddhist Monastery, Pemba Nurbu. I have come back 3 times since, and every time Pemba and his wonderful family show me such great hospitality šŸ™ Today I went to see him at his Monastery in Pangboche at 4000m above sea level, surrounded by the highest and most beautiful peaks in the world. I received blessings for safe passage on my expedition from the Lamas, which is an incredible place; the oldest monastery in the region, with many items being 600-700 hundred years old Thank you Pemba bhai, see you when I come down from Lhotse! šŸ™
