No woman gets to the top alone, and honestly, why would we want to? The real power move? Building a network where women champion each other, open doors, share opportunities, and remind one another of their worth on the days they forget it themselves. Ambition is great. Ambition with a tribe of smart, powerful women behind you? IDEAL.

As the PWHL continues to rapidly grow in just its third year, hockey legend Hilary Knight is calling out what women’s hockey, and women’s sports overall, still need most: investment, visibility, and support that finally reflects the level of talent.

@elilillyco ’s latest campaign puts movement, not medicine, at the center of the conversation around health. That really stood out to me. Featuring Caitlin Clark alongside everyday people in everyday moments, the campaign shows that wellness does not have to begin with perfection. Sometimes it starts with a walk, a stretch, or simply the decision to begin. “The journey to better health doesn’t begin with perfection. It begins with a first step. Wherever you are. However that looks,” said Lilly CMO and SVP Lina Polimeni. It’s all about preventative health. It’s not about waiting for the “right” moment, but starting to take small steps so that a healthy lifestyle feels accessible and achievable. This campaign reflects a broader cultural shift away from perfection and toward progress. 👏

Parenthood is one of the most demanding roles there is. It’s also a powerful training ground for leadership: empathy, patience, multitasking, flexibility, organization, communication, prioritization, accountability, and crisis management…to name a few. Research from The @femalequotient and Ipsos, in partnership with @onceuponafarm , found that 81% of all employees (parents and non-parents alike) say that caring for children is leadership, and our workplaces should reflect that reality. The leaders shaping organizations are often navigating bedtime negotiations and business negotiations. This isn’t about doing it all. It’s about doing what matters. And what matters, at home and at work, is leading with care. The Female Quotient and Once Upon a Farm partnered to reframe the narrative, highlighting what it really takes to build a “village,” from workplace policies to everyday support like access to nutritious, convenient food for families. The truth is, there will always be barriers, bias, setbacks, and moments that test what you’re made of. But resilience is built in those exact moments. When you push through with grit, determination, and purpose, the reward is that much greater. I’m so inspired by Allan Wylie, blind sports broadcaster and radio color commentator, who reminded all of us at @nabshow last month that limitations are often just invitations to lead differently, think bigger, and prove what’s possible. Believing in yourself, especially when others doubt you, is your greatest strength.

Some of the most powerful words come from finishing a simple sentence. When I asked @laweinberg of @supergoop , @dariennekennedy of @lorealgroupe PPD, @claudinecheever of @pinterest , and @caseydepalmamccartney of @unilever to complete the phrase “What if…” the answers painted a picture of exactly what women in leadership are still fighting for: staying in the workforce through motherhood, finally trusting themselves enough to stop second guessing every decision, and breaking into the CEO role. We have everything we need to get there. We just have to silence the voice that keeps telling us otherwise. #FQLeaders

Menopause is not a personal issue. It’s a life stage that impacts how millions of women live, work, and lead. Yet most workplaces were designed as though everyone shows up the same way every day, unaffected by what’s happening in their lives or their bodies. I spoke with @brookeburke and through her work with @hone.health , Brooke is helping bring visibility to the fact that women should not have to navigate this stage alone or in silence. We also talked about Menopause Time Off, not as a perk, but in terms of designing workplaces that reflect real life. When organizations design for how people actually live, they perform better, stay longer, and lead more intentionally. I’d love to hear from you: What does “designing for real life” look like in your workplace? Read more in my latest @Forbes article at the link in bio!

At The @femalequotient and @onceuponafarm , we talk a lot about “the village” when it comes to parenting. It’s the teammate who steps in. The manager who makes space. The friend who checks in. The culture that understands life doesn’t pause for work. Whether you’re raising kids, supporting someone who is, or simply showing up for the people around you, you’re part of that system. When we build workplaces that reflect real life, for parents and non-parents alike, everyone benefits. The Female Quotient and Once Upon a Farm partnered to reframe the narrative, highlighting what it really takes to build a “village,” from workplace policies to everyday support like access to nutritious, convenient food for families. Doris Fisher, co-founder of @gap , passed away at 94, leaving behind a legacy that transformed retail, philanthropy, education, and the arts. Doris helped build an iconic company long before women were regularly recognized as business leaders. Not only did she build Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, but she led with vision, creativity, curiosity, and conviction during a time when very few women were given space to do so. She championed the arts through one of the country’s most influential modern art collections and invested deeply in educational equity through organizations like KIPP. Women like Doris, who quietly changed industries, opened doors for future generations and showed that business success and impact can go hand in hand. Her legacy will live in the countless women she inspired to lead, create, and build because pioneers like her showed it was possible. I’m thinking of her family and everyone whose lives she touched.

Global activist who spent her life advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness, Hydeia Broadbent, passed away in 2024 at age 39. Born with HIV in 1984, Broadbent began raising awareness about the virus in her early years. “I want people to know that we’re just normal people,” she shared. Broadbent was adopted at birth by her parents after being abandoned at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. The disease was passed down by her mother, an IV drug user who left her at the hospital. At age three, she was diagnosed with HIV and doctors predicted she wouldn’t live past age 5. Magic Johnson shared, “Hydeia changed the world with her bravery, speaking about how living with HIV affected her life since birth. She dedicated her life to activism and became a change agent in the HIV/AIDS fight. By speaking out at such a young age, she helped so many people, young and old, because she wasn’t afraid to share her story and allowed everyone to see that those living with HIV and AIDS were everyday people and should be treated with respect. Thanks to Hydeia, millions were educated, stigmas were broken, and attitudes about HIV/AIDs were changed. We will miss her powerful voice in this world.” ❤️

Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother. I’ve always loved that phrase because it’s so true. Where would we be without the strength, love, and wisdom of the moms who shape us? Today, I celebrate the incredible mothers in my life. My mom, my mother-in-law, my daughter, and my daughter-in-law, each one an Eishet Chayil, a true woman of valor. I love you with all my heart. Happy Mother’s Day to moms everywhere, you are the blueprint, the compass, the magic.
