Shawn Ryan is best known for his range and depth where music is concerned, an expert distiller of time and place. He is DJ and music lover living in Philadelphia with over two decades of experience, playing an assortment of sounds ranging from disco, percussive house and a broad-spectrum of club music to balearic, new wave oddities, and all things synthesizer.
Shawn is a co-founder of
@universalcave , a DJ collective and record label that began its journey in 2009. In addition to their namesake record label, they are also behind Soft Rock For Hard times label and mix series, and have released music on the Emotional Rescue, Pleasure Of Love, and STUDS labels. Their commitment to playing top shelf sounds of the past, present, and future in their DJ sets also shines through in their many mixes, including their contributions to Beats In Space radio, Dream Chimney Mix of The Week, Bar Part Time’s mix series, Tuff Shed on NTS Radio, and their various shows on Philadelphia’s
